Rudyard Kipling"
āWhen you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldierā
General Douglas MacArthur"
āWe are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.ā
āIt is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.ā āOld soldiers never die; they just fade away.
āThe soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.ā
āMay God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .ā āThe object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
āNobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
āIt is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Gardens of Stone (1987) English Full Movie - Time Of The Vietnam War
Wednesday, April 16, 2025
Grizzled war veteran Sgt. Clell Hazard (James Caan) is disheartened when he is stationed as a guard in Arlington National Cemetery instead of an instructor of new recruits during the Vietnam War.
A hardened Korean and Vietnam War veteran, Sergeant First Class Clell Hazard would rather be an instructor at the U.S. Army Infantry School at Fort Benning to train soldiers for Vietnam but instead is assigned to the 1st Battalion 3rd Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) at Fort Myer, Virginia, which provides the ceremonial honor guard for the funerals of fallen soldiers and guards the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.
Hazard calls them the "toy soldiers" and hates his job until Jackie Willow, the son of an old friend and fellow soldier, is assigned to his platoon; Hazard sees in him an opportunity to make sure at least one man comes home from Vietnam alive.
Hazard tries to warn Willow about Vietnam but Willow sees it as his duty as a soldier to fight for his country, no matter what kind of war it is facing. Hazard hates how the war in Vietnam is being fought and feels that good soldiers are being wounded and killed in the "wrong" war in which the U.S. is not fighting to win.
Among the others in Hazard's life are his longtime friend and superior, Sergeant Major "Goody" Nelson, and his girlfriend Samantha Davis, a writer for The Washington Post who is against the Vietnam War for different reasons. Willow marries a colonel's daughter named Rachel Feld, who at first refuses to marry Jackie as long as he is a soldier. Rachel also hates the war in Vietnam and is afraid for her husband.
Hazard is divorced and hasn't seen his son in years due to the bitter divorce. After Willow's father, who is a retired U.S. Army master sergeant and a former Korean War comrade in arms of Hazard's and Nelson's, dies of a heart attack, Hazard comes to look upon Willow as a "son." He tries to teach Willow all he can about soldiering and surviving in combat.
Willow in turn tries to teach his platoon-mate Private Albert Wildman, a chronic screw-up, how to be a soldier. Wildman is later ordered to Vietnam, where he distinguishes himself as a heroic soldier and effective combat infantryman. He returns from Vietnam promoted to the rank of sergeant and is a recipient of the Medal of Honor for heroism in combat. Sergeant Flanagan, a fellow member of Hazard's platoon, receives his orders for Vietnam at the same time.
Willow excels, is promoted to sergeant and is recommended to attend Officer's Candidate School, which he completes and is commissioned as a second lieutenant. He is ordered to serve in a combat unit in Vietnam. Willow writes Hazard from Vietnam about all the good men in his platoon that are being lost in combat. Hazard then finds out that Willow has been killed in action when he sees the burial orders for Willow's remains.
Hazard requests to be sent to Vietnam for his third tour of duty as a platoon sergeant in a combat infantry unit. He places his Combat Infantryman Badge on Willow's flag-draped coffin at the chapel at Arlington National Cemetery. Wildman and Flanagan, at that time both sergeants and just recently returned from Vietnam, are also present at Willow's funeral.
The film ends with military honors being rendered at Willow's graveside at Arlington and Hazard speaking to the mourners prior to the firing of the rifle salute and the playing of "Taps".
The Islamisation of Europe - Can Europe survive much longer?
Tuesday, April 15, 2025
Billmuehlenberg : That Islam is slowly but surely on the march throughout the West,
with little or nothing stopping it, is clearly evident. In Europe
especially we see the shocking transformation of Western cities and
communities into Muslim enclaves.
There are now even numerous no-go
zones in Europe where the police and fire departments are hesitant to
enter. The fact that many Muslims might want to live in peace and enjoy what
the West has to offer is really beside the point. True Muslims
committed to their faith want to see the entire world become an Islamic
caliphate with everyone submitting to sharia law.
A number of quick points that help to make the case about the
Islamisation of the West ā and especially Europe ā can be highlighted
here. First, consider these alarming facts about the rapid and
relentless growth of Islam in Europe, as measured by the number of
mosques that are found there today:
-In Germany there are around 2800 mosques today.
-In France there are some 2600 mosques (there were just 8 in 1975).
-In the UK there are over 1500 mosques.
-London has the greatest number of mosques outside of Turkey.
And many mosques in Europe today were formerly Christian churches!
This is the real act of colonisation taking place. Forget about
so-called Western imperialism. The traffic is all one way. Muslims are
well on the way to taking over many Western cities and towns, if not
entire nations. And this is being achieved by various means.
It can be by much higher birthrates. While Muslims still have large
families (and often multiple wives), Westerners are on a massive
demographic decline, being far more willing to abort their babies than
allow them to live. Thus we keep hearing that the most popular name
today for baby boys in the UK and elsewhere is Muhammad.
International Union of Muslim Scholars: Terrorism in the Guise of Religion by By SALEM ALKETBI
TJP : As posted on their official website, the Union calls for "armed jihad" as a religious requirementā. Are America and Europe
waiting for another 9/11 before taking action against organizations
openly calling for violence and terror in the name of religion?
This
question is prompted by the recent statement by the International Union
of Muslim Scholarsā (IUMS) Jurisprudence and Fatwa Committee on March
28, 2025.
Posted
on their official website and amplified by Union president Ali
Al-Qaradaghi on his personal X/Twitter account, this statement, calling
for āarmed jihadā as a religious requirement, is a clear example of
inflammatory rhetoric promoting terrorism under religious pretexts,
seeking to recruit Muslims worldwide ā including Western residents ā
into violent extremism.
This
pronouncement continues the IUMSās long history of similar rhetoric.
Despite marketing itself as āmoderate and middle-way,ā the Unionās
rhetoric and actions expose its true function as a media and religious
arm of terrorist groups, especially the Muslim Brotherhood. Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, who founded the organization in 2004, was a key Muslim Brotherhood figure.
Experts widely view the IUMS as a dangerous platform using religious
cover to promote violent extremism. Their recent statement explicitly
calls for armed jihad ā a dangerous recurring theme directly encouraging
terror.
The
problem goes further. The statement also demands āfinancial jihadā to
support the so-called āresistance,ā effectively calling for worldwide
financial backing of terror organizations.
The Union also pushes for military intervention and religion-based
military alliances, deepening religious conflict and global divisions.
Such calls threaten international stability and undermine decades of
peace efforts.
50 years ago today, on Palm Sunday, Palestinian terrorists officially started the Lebanese Civil War and declared war on Christians By Dr. Maalouf ā
X : They cowardly opened fire on a church in Beirut during a baptism ceremony and killed four people. Lebanon at the time was a Christian-majority country and the most prosperous nation in the Middle East.
It was the financial and tourist capital of the region. Palestinians and their Islamist allies destroyed all that by dragging the country into a 15-year-long war.
Why? Because they hated Christians. They couldnāt stand the idea of Christians having self-determination and their own homeland in the Middle East, a tiny country smaller than Qatar. They called native Lebanese Christians āCrusadersā and imperialists. Anything that deviated from the Arab Muslim supremacist norm was ācolonialismā (yes, the same argument they use against Israel today).
Dozens of thousands of Christians were slaughtered, and many more were forced to leave. The dream of a peaceful, self-determined Lebanon, the only Christian country in the Middle East, was destroyed.
Jim Chimirie : The truth is, the Lebanese Civil War was not some spontaneous "internal conflict" - it was a calculated jihad against the Christian identity of Lebanon. Palestinian militants, backed by broader Islamist forces, brought their hatreds and wars into a country that had been peaceful, prosperous, and predominantly Christian.
Lebanon was a beacon of success in the Middle East - free, cosmopolitan, and thriving - and that was intolerable to those who could only see the world through the lens of sectarian domination. Christians daring to build a homeland in their own ancestral land was seen as an insult by those who believe only Muslim states have legitimacy in the region.
The massacre on Palm Sunday 1975 was a declaration of war against Christian Lebanon. The PLO and their Islamist allies shattered the country, sowed chaos, and opened the door for Syria and Iran to tighten their grip. Tens of thousands of Christians were butchered or forced into exile. And today, the same hateful rhetoric is aimed at Israel - and increasingly, at any non-Muslim communities trying to survive in the Middle East.
This is the reality. It's ugly, but ignoring it would be even worse.
The Hidden Story of Raub's Musang King Farmers (Pekebun durian - Lembu Punya Susu, Sapi Dapat Nama)
For the durian farmers of Raub, seizure of their lands, repeated rejection to apply for land titles, access to their orchards blocked & torching of their durian sheds is a form of oppression by the Pahang government. But for the Pahang government, the durian farmers are trespassers.
As for the durian consortium, which is a joint venture between the state governmentās development arm known as the Perbadanan Kemajuan Pertanian Negeri Pahang (PKPP), and the Royal Pahang Durian Group (RPD) (companies aligned with Pahang royalty), the durian farmers refusal to agree & accept the consortium's demands to manage their farms, is unacceptable.

Thank you for explaining Madam. The media never mentioned about the Malay farmers involved making this a racial issue . Hope justice is done.

Defending Israel and Western Civilization More Urgent than Ever by Guy MilliĆØre
The vast majority of Israelis seem finally to have understood that the
goal of Palestinian organizations is not to create a state living in
peace alongside Israel, but to destroy Israel. The West, wrote the
columnist Melanie Phillips, needs "to take off its blinders, join up the
dots and fight like Israel to survive." Pictured: Hamas terrorists on
their way into Israel from Gaza Strip, on their mission to murder Jews,
on the morning of October 7, 2023. (Photo by Said Khatib/AFP via Getty

Gatestone Institute : In the mainstream European and American
media, the unspeakable October 7, 2023 Hamas massacre in Israel seems
largely forgotten.
The media rarely describe Hamas as a terrorist
organization with genocidal aims. When the word "genocide" is used, even by self-described "human rightsorganizations," it is to accuse the victim of the attacks, Israel.
Israel forcibly removed every Jew
from Gaza in 2005 ā long before the October 7, 2023 massacre.
Nevertheless, one of Amnesty International's current campaigns, "End
Israel's Genocide against Palestinians in Gaza," continues to refer
to the "occupied Gaza Strip." Gaza has not been occupied for twenty
years; it is not occupied now. Gaza is the theater from where
Palestinians are still firing rockets and missiles at civilian targets in Israel.
Apparently Hamas had been planning the Ocotber 7 attacks on Israel years
before 2023. October 7, 2023. On that day, Hamas bulldozed Israel's
fences to slaughter and torture to death 1,200 Israelis, including roasting an infant to death in an oven, among other savageries. atrocities. The terrorist group then kidnapped another 251 people and brought them to Gaza, where 59 are still being held, only 24 of whom are thought still to be alive. Many of these horrors were triumphantly photographed by the Palestinians on Iphones,
In the Amnesty report, the October 7, massacre is cited only once and in extremely sweetened way as a "Hamas led attack". The problem, it seems, was that Israel had the check to retaliate and
had the check ask for its tortured hostages back. For this lack of
courtesy, Amnesty International excoriated it with ferocity:
"Israel's brutal onslaught against Palestinians in Gaza
has killed tens of thousands of people, wiped out entire families,
flattened residential neighborhoods, destroyed critical infrastructure
and forcibly displaced 1.9 million Palestinians, over 90% of the
population of the Gaza Strip, causing an unprecedented humanitarian
catastrophe..."
"Israel committed acts prohibited under the Genocide Convention and
did so with the specific intent to destroy Palestinians in Gaza. These
acts include killings, inflicting serious physical or mental harm to
members of the protected group and deliberately creating conditions of
life calculated to bring about the physical destruction of Palestinians
in Gaza."
In reality, of course, all Hamas needs to do to prevent this
destruction is return all the hostages it should not have kidnapped in
the first place. Amnesty International has served up a remarkable inversion of facts.
Bawani in Ayer Kuning ā true grit By Commander S THAYAPARAN (Retired) Royal Malaysian Navy

farmers and address injustice in society.ā
COMMENT
| Recently in the Mara bullying case, its chairperson Asyraf Wajdi
Dusuki questioned how future leaders are expected to be formed from its
learning institutions if they have bad characters.
"Mara is a
field for us to produce leaders. How can we give birth to leaders who
are shallow in their intellect and polluted by their manners and moral
behaviour?ā he asked.
This
is rich considering what Asyraf had said during his various tenures in
the political ecosystem, the most egregious of which was when he said
the then BN was committed to making Malaysia an Islamic state.
Contrast this with PSMās Ayer Kuning candidate Bawani KS who took an anti-racism oath, promising not to play race politics to gain votes while on the campaign trail. She also said her partyās efforts will focus on social class struggles rather than racial matters.
I do not know what exactly is going on in Mara which is supposed to give birth to the leaders Malaysia needs. But
what I do know is that if Mara were to use young leaders like Bawani as
an example of the conduct future leaders should emulate, the young
minds in Mara would not be prone to bully boy tactics they witness in
mainstream politics.
If you think about it, both this coalition
government and Perikatan Nasional do not want their children to grow up
or emulate someone like Bawani.
libra : Same as ever. The problems of society always exist and the political parties promising this and that is not the way to go.Why not the people embrace ONLY good characters?
And it falls on the majority Malays to choose--if they fail then the whole fails too. Even if they are misled or misinformed, it only shows what a screwed up society it becomes not knowing the truth or want to live in truth.
Two Terrorist Countries Killing Each Other - Pakistan & Afghanistan Were Once Friends. Why Are They Fighting Now?
Sunday, April 13, 2025
Up to 3 million Afghan refugees are at risk of being deported from Pakistan. Once allies, tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have boiled over in recent months. Skirmishes, airstrikes and blockades have killed dozens in the borders between the two countries.
At the heart of this conflict, is the Tehreek-e-Taliban-Pakistan (TTP), also known as the Pakistani Taliban. The terror group is affiliated with the Afghan Taliban and has recently stepped up attacks on Pakistan targets in their goal to establish a caliphate in the country.
Pakistan accuses Afghanistan of harbouring the TTP, while Afghanistan remains coy about their links to the group. Will border tensions ignite into a wider conflagration?
How will the breakdown in Pakistani-Afghani relations impact cross-border economic projects like China's Belt and Road Initiative?
Palm Sunday commemorates Jesus's triumphal entry into Jerusalem, marking the beginning of Holy Week and the final week of Lent. It's a Christian holiday celebrated on the Sunday before Easter, and it recalls the biblical story where Jesus was greeted by crowds waving palm branches.

Calling detractors 'bebal' unhelpful, alienates genuine critics By Mariam Mokhtar
Saturday, April 12, 2025
Malaysiakini : COMMENT | There was an absence of
magnanimity, except only an abundance of arrogance, when Prime Minister
Anwar Ibrahim slammed his critics for being inflexible when he accused
them of exaggerating and politicising āsmallā issues.
If only
Anwar would stop living in denial and start to connect with the
electorate instead of just placating the Malays and having minimal
engagement with the non-Malays. He could at least try to be the
prime minister for all Malaysians, at all times, and not just in the
run-up to the general election.
He should leave his ego at home and stop taking criticisms personally. Anwar and his sycophants fail to understand that people who censure him do so out of concern for the future of the nation. They speak out not because they hunger for power, prestige, position or a post in a GLC or other public institution.
Dewi Sri Pathrakaliamman Temple
Anwar singled out
the temple relocation controversy and the scuffle between an unlicensed
balloon vendor and enforcement officers as minor issues. He said, āSmall matters which can be questioned in a good way are made into big issues as if a war is going to happen.ā
MS : "Large-scale corruption, slapping, hate speech, destroying/relocating temples, child marriages, incest, underage sex, and sexual abuse of tahfiz pupils and children in Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISBH) are all perpetrated by Malays."
None of the above has been even perfunctorily addressed by Malay politicians like Anwar who is focused almost entirely on burnishing his "islamic" credentials and showcasing the "strength of Islam" as if the listed litany of ills besetting the community does not prove otherwise.
By constantly training their guns on the minorities, organizing meaningless boycotts and issuing dire warnings and threats against imagined aggravations, politicians like Anwar keep their own community distracted from the malignant tumors eating them from the inside.
Spending billions through fat bureaucratic entities like Jakim have obviously done nothing to mitigate the many social ills with which the community has now come to be associated.
Robbie98 : The vast majority of people who take the time to write comments are people who are worried about the direction our country is heading . A constitutional democracy, with the assured protection of all citizens and their individual faiths , is slowly being replaced by an ultra religious Islamic narrative .
Political power and numbers are being used to shut down anyone who disagrees . The US versus you narrative is being used with increasing force . Our political leaders do not appear to have a vision to ensure a peaceful progress without resorting to aggressive self serving gestures.
The distrust among the various races is palpable and clearly visible at times . Simple incidents like the socks issue , the incident of slapping , the Hindu temple issue ,are blown of proportions increasing the disharmony . The divisions started in earnest about 25 years ago and has rapidly accelerated in the recent years .
Lip service about unity at the time of elections or when seeĘing to maintain power and position alone is certainly not going heal the increasing fissures . Let me hope and pray that we as a nation and people can learn that unity is our strength to maintain and protect our future. We need to learn to care for each other as in the past .
