Rudyard Kipling"
āWhen you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldierā
General Douglas MacArthur"
āWe are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.ā
āIt is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.ā āOld soldiers never die; they just fade away.
āThe soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.ā
āMay God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .ā āThe object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
āNobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
āIt is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
DAP will neither alter Islam nor advocate for secular state By Commander S THAYAPARAN (Retired) Royal Malaysian Navy
Malaysiakini : āThose who are capable of tyranny are capable of perjury to sustain it.ā
- Lysander Spooner
COMMENT
| Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki claimed that DAP would
never be able to āamend the Federal Constitution involving the position
of Islam and the Malays even if it has 148 seats in Parliamentā.
Hold
it right there, if DAP had 148 seats, this would mean that a large
swath of the population who voted for the party must have wanted a
constitutional amendment if it had campaigned on it, right?
Asyraf has sung this tune before about DAP not being a threat to Islam and the Malays.
In
2023, Asyraf pointed out that the RM1.9 billion allocated for Islamic
affairs under Budget 2024 proved that the allegation was just slander.
DAP
would never advocate for a secular state because this would mean it
keeps its campaign promise and serves the people who voted for it.
Indeed,
so inept has DAP been when it comes to maintaining the secular line,
and so eager has the party been to please their Malay/Muslim partners
that it has bent over backwards for the Islamic state in waiting.
More
importantly, while non-Malays condemn such appeasement strategies
online, they still remain a fixed deposit for DAP. Umno, its Youth chief
Dr Akmal Saleh and a host of other ketuanan (supremist) types understand this.
At
one time or another, Malay uber alles political operatives have hooked
up with DAP - former premier Muhyiddin Yassin has sung DAP praises, and
so has his fellow former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Even PAS president
Abdul Hadi Awang has made nice with DAP.
India vs Pakistan WAR Over Pahalgam Terror Attack Likely Escalate: Defence Update
India vs Pakistan: Is War Looming Over Kashmir? Indian Military is ranked among the most powerful in the world but where does Pakistan rank?
Tensions escalate as Pakistan backed terrorists target Hindu tourists in Kashmir, triggering fears of a full-scale war. But with Indiaās military power ranked 4th globally, does Pakistan even stand a chance? PM Modi vows retaliation! Can India dominate the battlefield? Get the full breakdown of Indiaās military superiority and what this means for Kashmir.

Why are there so many Pakistanis in Britain? And how Labour's Mirpur Airport plan will bring in more!
The dismantling of UK culture continues unabated. Why are UK MPs even thinking about foreign airports? Radical Islam is the snake hiding in the grass... Moderate Islam is the grass hiding the snake.
Giving the most intolerant people on the planet the power to silence and criminalise anyone who doesn't tolerate their intolerance is absolutely wild. There are around 250 million people inside Pakistan, just how many does Britain need? There is too many foreigners in the country already.
Why is asking a legitimate question like "Why are there so many Pakistanis in Britain' racist?
Khans and Bollywood nervous after Pahalgam attack? Why?
They attacked us especially the men. Iām still standing strong Guyanese Hindu here. Boycott Bollywood. What has Shah Rukh Kunt ever done for me?
Meenaji, that picture of the girl with her fallen husband is heartbreaking, really disturbed me. These incidents keep happening because Hindus are selfish and cowards. We admire Israel but donāt have the guts to act likewise. Selfish Hindus keep supporting the people who are not integrated into the nation.
Burning Question LIVE: Forces Crush Terror Network Across Kashmir - Pahalgam Attack

As Indian forces carry out widespread crackdowns across Kashmir, eliminating key terror networks, panic grips Pakistan even before a full-scale response unfolds. In this special edition of Burning Question LIVE, we bring you ground reports, strategic insights, and breaking updates as the Indian military crushes terror cells with precision and resolve.
Watch how the tide turns and how the narrative of fear now haunts those who once spread it.
Last week we told you about a terror plot in Jordan. Jordan's government has accused Muslim Brotherhood of creating unrest in the Arab kingdom. Jordan has also outlawed the group.
Now you will understand what Israel has been going through. Germany is next! Jordan's pro-activeness will protect the country from being destroyed.
Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong called for a press conference on Saturday (Apr 26) in the midst of the General Election campaigning period to address foreign interference in the upcoming polls. He called for all political parties to make their positions clear on the matter as this āis not a partisan or party matterā but a āmatter of national importanceā.
The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) on Friday directed Meta to block Singapore usersā access to several Facebook posts by foreigners who criticised the Singapore government's handling of sensitive religious issues and urged voters to cast ballots along religious lines. Mr Wong also urged Singaporeans to āfirmly rejectā identity politics, as it will āend up fuelling our worst tendencies, hostilities and vengefulness across society.ā
āWe, the citizens of Singapore, pledge ourselves as one united people, regardless of race, language or religion, to build a democratic society based on justice and equality, so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our nation.ā
In this thought-provoking video, Sadhguru addresses the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, urging a shift in perspective. He explains why labeling such events merely as 'terror' might be insufficient, framing them instead as part of a 'planned agenda' aimed at destabilizing the nation ("bleed you with a thousand cuts").
Pope Francis expressed distrust of the West and support for Israelās declared enemies
INN : The left loved Pope Francis
when he denigrated capitalism, globalization, inequalities between rich
and poor as well as Muslim migrants, and when he put theoretical
Catholic violence and very real Islamic violence on the same level.
The
left loved the Pope when Francis willingly submitted to the dictates of
political correctness and seemed to have adopted Chestertonās famous
ācrazy Christian virtuesā.
Now
his admirers and faithful remember him as the Pope of the peripheries,
of mercy, of inclusion, of openness to others, of the solitary mass in
St. Peterās during the pandemic, of the āpeopleā (his best moment was
instead when he went to visit what remains of the Christians in Iraq).
They mourn this Pope for his funny anecdotes and that mischievous look,
as well as for his reputation for being āin step with the times.ā
For
Bergoglio (before he became Pope Francis, he was known as Jorge Mario
Bergoglio), Europe was the past. He did not understand it and did not
want to understand it. He did not like Europe. And he said it every day
for twelve very long years.
The Pope who did not go to Notre Dame for the reopening.
The
Pope of āhuman brotherhoodā with Imam Al Tayeeb, who called on Islam to
unite against Israel, who legitimized terrorism on the basis of the
Koran and called for the death of āapostates,ā meaning those who convert
to Christianity.
The
Pope who said on October 7 āthey killed someoneā and brought relations
with the Jewish world to the lowest point in a strange convergence
between Christian anti-Judaism and Muslim anti-Jewish hatred. While
Benedict XVI took a stand in defense of Western culture and pledged to
strengthen ācollaboration with the sons and daughters of the Jewish
people,ā his successor expressed distrust of the West and support for
Israelās declared enemies.
The Pope who āpunch-punchedā the (dead) cartoonists after the Charlie Hebdo
massacre (āitās normal, itās normalā). Why did Francis speak in a way
that would make him identifiable as the guardian of the self-defense of
the ādignity of religionsā (only Islam is violent) rather than the
guardian of the sacredness of life and the right to freedom of
expression?
The
Pope who, faced with the most significant episode of intolerance
towards Christians that has occurred in Europe since the Second World
War, the slaughter of Father Hamel in Normandy, said that Islamists are
looking for āmoneyā and that if one must speak of āIslamic violenceā he
also wants to speak of āCatholic violenceā.
The
Pope who said that āthere is an Arab invasion of Europe, a social fact,
but how many invasions has Europe known in the course of its history
and has always known how to overcome itself and move forward to finally
find itself as if enlarged by the exchange between culturesā.
The
Pope who managed to explain that "the idea of āāconquest" is an
integral part of Islam as a religion, but also of Christianity.
The Pope who met Greta, fueling a ridiculous and anti-Western environmentalism. The Pope who said that "I don't feel like calling China anti-democratic". The Pope who called the migratory upheaval "alarmist propaganda". The Pope who, contrary to all the facts, said that "poverty fuels terrorism".
The Pope who compared migrants in Europe to Jesus and the Jews that Herod was hunting. The Pope who attacked politicians who defend the Christian roots of Europe. The Pope who said that Europe has a "multicultural" identity. The Pope who called the West "a civilization of barbed wire and slavery". The Pope who equated migrant centers to āconcentration campsā and ālagersā. And this was the most serious lie.
It
does not matter that, once the comparison was cleared, even Erdogan
approached the Jews under Nazism - or that, if Hitler exterminated 6
million Jews, in 2020 in Europe there were 87 million migrants (alive
and well).
In
his writings and speeches, Francis always presented only one truth.
That of the gentile migrant denied entry to a rich and despicable
Western country. He rejected the idea that these influxes of migrants
could also be a source of problems for the receiving countries. He saw
only the advantages of ādiversity.ā But Islam has not yet produced civil
societies, states, institutions, and a culture of rights that are equal
to those of the West and as desirable to millions of people.
āJohn
Paul II remains the Pope of freedom, who played a decisive role in the
fall of the Soviet Union and the peaceful conclusion of the Cold War,ā
writes Nicholas Baverez, a student of the philosopher Raymond Aron.
āBenedict XVI was the Pope of reconciliation between faith and reason,
which he sought to erect as a barrier against the return of religious
fanaticism. Francis is the Pope of resentment toward Europe and the
West.ā
I
donāt know if Michel Houellebecq is right when he writes that āthe
Church is engaged in suicideā. But a certain cultural dhimmitude is the
great blind side of the Bergoglian pontificate, whose aspiration for
peace met with the will to power of his interlocutors. Satisfying all
the requirements of the āSouth of the worldā, decolonial and destroyer
of the āprivileged whitesā, did not Bergoglio follow in the footsteps of
the worst autocrats who manipulate this new mobilizing ideological
figure, the āWestā?
Benedict
XVI discovered that the price of conviction is unpopularity. Francis
discovered that the price of compromise is disorder. History
remembers the expression ābetter the turban than the tiaraā by Gennadio
Scolario, leader of the powerful Latinophobic and Turcophile Byzantine
party, who preferred to hand the Byzantines over to the Turks and to the
definitive yoke of dhimmitude rather than ally himself with Rome, rival
of Constantinople.
I
donāt know if history will remember Francis as ābetter the turban than
the West,ā but if Wojtyla went to Warsaw during communism and Ratzinger
to Regensburg during the clash of civilizations, I struggle to find
light in Bergoglio where he, in the West, saw only shadows.
Kashmir Attack, India Responds LIVE: No Visas for Pakistanis, Border Shut
Friday, April 25, 2025
A day after at least 26 civilians were killed in a brutal terrorist attack in Jammu & Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22, India has vowed a strong retaliation against those responsible for the attack.
Around 17 tourists were also injured in Pahalgam's Baisaran Valley on the ill-fated Tuesday evening, when over seven terrorists targeted tourists based on their religion.
Of the 26 slain men, most were tourists, including a Navy officer, Lt. Vinay Narwal. The victims also included two foreigners and at least one local man. Several local Kashmiris also took out candle marches on Tuesday and Wednesday to condole the attack, while many mosques from the Valley also condemned the attack.
The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has purportedly claimed responsibility for the attack.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi cut short his two-day state visit to Saudi Arabia and chaired a high-level meeting of the Cabinet Committee of Security (CCS) on Wednesday.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also visited the attack site to pay his tributes to the victims and take stock of the situation.
Meanwhile, several world leaders, including US President Donald Trump, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and China's foreign ministry spokesperson, have strongly condemned the attack.
What's the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack? How will it affect the tourism and the development in the Kashmir Valley? And, how will India respond to this brutal attack?
It was supposed to be just another spring day in Kashmirās stunning Baisaran Valley. But within moments, a peaceful meadow turned into a killing field. 26 innocent tourists were gunned down in a Hamas-style ambush ā planned, brutal, and devastating. This wasn't just terror.
It was a massacre. The fingerprints all over it are that of Pakistan. From a terror summit in Rawalakote to speeches in Islamabad that called Kashmir Pakistan's "jugular vein" the trail is chillingly clear. But will Pakistan ever accept it?
India has the right to defend itself, the Muslims came to India by invading and plundering. Do NOT bend over unless you have unending supply of lubricants.
Arnabās Message To Owaisi, Rahul & Akhilesh After Pakistani Terrorists Kill Tourists In Pahalgam
A day after cowardly terrorists took the lives of innocents who were peacefully enjoying the scenic Pahalgam, Arnab takes on Asaduddin Owaisi, Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav. Arnab takes down the AIMPLB for their Waqf provocation and questions the opposition's rationale behind such a move when the country has been faced with a terror attack from Pakistan.

Indian Traitor
Join Arnab's Nation's Sharpest Opinion for a fiery showdown as we unravel the shocking aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 innocent Indian lives. At the heart of the storm is Robert Vadraās explosive claim, linking the brutal massacre to Indiaās internal communal divide, seemingly deflecting blame from Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.
Did Vadraās remarks give a clean chit to Pakistan? Why does the opposition hesitate to name Pakistan and terrorism in the same breath? Is there a deeper pro-Pakistan agenda at play, or is this a desperate attempt to politicize a national tragedy? As the BJP demands an apology and accuses the Congress of echoing terrorist rhetoric, we dive into the motives, the outrage, and the political fallout. Tune in for a no-holds-barred debate with Arnab Goswami.
In Pahalgam, a peaceful Kashmiri hill town, terrorists dressed as Indian soldiers asked one question: āWhatās your name and religion?ā Why is the world silent when Hindus are targeted? Where is the outrage now?
Western Media Calls Kashmir Terrorists "Gunmen" and "Militants". Though Western governments are standing in solidarity with India, Western media outlets appear to be downplaying the terror attack in Kashmir. Most outlets are calling the terrorists "gunmen" and "militants" despite their massacre of 26 innocent civilians.
Woman recalls chilling moments of Pahalgam terror attack: Her father was shot dead for failing to recite Islamic verse, terrorists also cursed PM Modi
OpIndia : According to an eyewitness of the Pahalgam terror assault, which happened on 22nd April, the terrorists cursed Prime Minister Narendra Modi before killing
the Hindu tourists.
Asavari Jagdale, the 26-year-old daughter of a
54-year-old businessman from Pune, who was also murdered by the
assailants, described
how they confronted her father, Santosh Jagdale and demanded that he
recite an Islamic verse. They shot him in the head, behind the ear and
then in the back after he was unable to comply.
The unfortunate family was hiding
inside a tent while gunfire and cries for assistance echoed through the
popular tourist destination in Pahalgam. According to Asavari, the
terror commenced when they heard shots coming from āpeople who wore
clothes similar to those of local policeā coming down from a hill. She
hurried to a nearby tent with other tourists, accompanied by her father
and mother, Pragati. They thought that it was an altercation between the
security officers and the attackers. The attackers were firing at an
adjacent tent as the sound grew closer.
āWe were a group of five people, including my parents. We were in
Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam and were at a spot called Mini Switzerland
when the firing began. We immediately rushed to a nearby tent for
protection. So did six to seven others (tourists). We all lay down on
the ground as protection against the firing, which we then assumed was
between the terrorists and security personnel,ā she recounted the harrowing details.
āAre you a Hindu?ā Bengaluru techie shot dead in front of his family in chilling Pahalgam terror attack
OpIndia : āThey apparently asked, āAre you Hindu?ā and then shot them. My son-in-law was murdered because of his faith,ā she said through tears. āThey didnāt touch the women or children, but the men⦠they were shot in the head. They kept shooting till they fell.ā
In one of the bloodiest terror strikes in recent times, 41-year-old
Bharat Bhushan, a tech professional from Bengaluru, was brutally gunned
down in front of his wife and three-year-old son in Jammu and Kashmirās
Pahalgam on Tuesday. The attack, carried out by terrorists suspected to
be affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taibaās proxy outfit, āThe Resistance
Frontā, left 26 dead and dozens injured, turning a serene tourist haven
into a nightmare.
According to Bhushanās mother-in-law, who spoke to her daughter Sujatha after the incident, the terrorists coldly asked the victims whether they were Hindus before opening fire.
āThey apparently asked, āAre you Hindu?ā and then shot them. My
son-in-law was murdered because of his faith,ā she said through tears.
āThey didnāt touch the women or children, but the men⦠they were shot in
the head. They kept shooting till they fell.ā
Sujatha, a doctor by profession, realised instantly that her husband
was no more. Acting with incredible presence of mind amidst chaos and
carnage, she picked up her husbandās phone and wallet and ran to safety
with their child. The Indian Army quickly secured the area and moved the
survivors to a safe location.
Bhushan, originally from Nellore in Andhra Pradesh, was the
co-manager of a family-run diagnostic centre and had made a quiet life
for himself in Bengaluruās Mattikere with his young family. This
vacation to Kashmir was supposed to be a break from routine ā a chance
to make memories. Instead, it turned into a tragedy that will haunt his
loved ones forever.
Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya confirmed he had spoken to the
grieving Sujatha and coordinated with authorities for her safety. āHer husband was shot dead in cold blood. She and her little boy
survived. The local administration is providing all necessary support,ā
he posted on X.
OpIndia :Terrorists check names and circumcision before shooting Hindus, but for āsecular liberalsā the first reaction to Pahalgam is āterror has no religionā. If liberals are more worried about adverse impact of terrorism on tourism in Kashmir, supposed surge in hostile sentiments towards Jihadis than about Hindu victims who bodies are yet to turn cold, then they are a part of the problem, the Jihadi problem
General Bakshi rips the politicians
āTerrorism has no religionā. The secular liberal enablers of Islamists are at it again after Islamic terrorists ambushed a group of unarmed Hindu tourists in Jammu and Kashmirās Pahalgam on 22nd
April 2025. The Islamic terrorists belonging to the proxy of Pakistani
terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), The Resistance Force, checked IDs,
pulled down pants to verify religion (by checking whether the men were
circumcised or not), and executed those identified as non-Muslims,
point-blank in Baisaran Valley.
Eyewitness statements have confirmed this.
While Islamic terrorists specifically targeted Hindus, the Indian
āliberalsā, ever-ready to whitewash Islamic violence, jumped like a
spring to downplay the religious motivations of Islamists behind
attacking Hindus, resorted to peddling the same old āTerrorism has no
religionā narrative.
In this vein, Bar and Bench journalist Ratna Singh quoted a post by
BJP Chhattisgarh wherein it said that the Islamic terrorists asked the
religion of tourists, not caste, before shooting them dead, and said:
āTerrorism has no religion. Shameful tweetā.
Saudi Arabia Deports Nearly 5,000 Beggars From The Islamic Paradise Of Pakistan
According to Pakistan's Daily Dawn newspaper, 4,700 beggars have been deported from Saudi Arabia. Khwaja Muhammad Asif, Pakistan's Federal Minister for Defence, stated that there are about 22 million beggars in Pakistan, generating an annual income of at least Rs 42 billion.
He expressed concerns that the rising number of beggars is harming the countryās image abroad while addressing members of the Pakistan Ready-Made Garments Manufacturer and Exporters Association in Sialkot. No wonder they coming in large numbers to Malaysia.. here they are received happily.
Only 22 million beggars? Not true. It is 250 million.
54 Christians Killed Following Palm Sunday Service
Nigeria (International Christian Concern) ā Following
Palm Sunday celebrations on April 13, Islamic Fulani extremists
slaughtered at least 54 Christians in the village of Zikke near Jos,
Plateau state. Local leaders are calling the attack āa targeted act of
genocide against the Christian community.ā
Eyewitnesses said the attack
lasted more than an hour, leaving 103 households destroyed and the
entire village displaced. Frustration mounted as residents reported a
delayed military response and accused security forces of bias, disarming
local Christian youth but not Fulani attackers.
The Rev. Hezekiah Mukan officiated
the mass burial of 51 Christians on April 14. Mukan, also chair of the
Christian Association of Nigeria, consoled locals reading from 1
Thessalonians 4:13, calling on everyone to remember their hope in Christ
as they mourned the dead. The three other known victims received
separate Christian burials.
Pastor Ishaku Mathew Kure, a local
Baptist pastor, lost 10 members of his congregation and described
seeing the attackers, some speaking both English and Fulani, using
phrases like āKillā and āLetās go.ā The pastor, who narrowly escaped
with his family, called the violence āgenocideā and questioned the
governmentās failure to disarm Fulani militias while locals remain
defenseless.
Amnesty International condemned the massacre, which left elderly people and children butchered in their homes. āThe inexcusable security lapses must be investigated,ā Amnesty stated, adding that mere statements of condemnation are insufficient without justice and accountability.
From December 2023 to February 2024, more than 1,300 people were killed in Plateau state alone, including more than 500 women and 260 children. Nearly 30,000 people have been displaced. The frequency and pattern of the attacks have led to growing fears of an orchestrated campaign to forcibly displace Christian communities and seize their ancestral lands.
Eli Bako, a state lawmaker
representing the affected area, called the attack āevilā and pleaded
with the international community for urgent intervention. āOne day, we
will have no people left in our constituency,ā he warned, criticizing
the selective disarmament of vulnerable villagers.
Plateau State Governor Caleb
Manasseh Mutfwang condemned the attacks as ācoordinated acts of terrorā
aimed at ethnic cleansing. In a state broadcast on April 14, he stated,
āWhat we are witnessing is not mere herder-farmer clashes, but a
calculated campaign of genocide.ā
He pledged full support for the
victims, announcing free medical treatment for the wounded, deployment
of more troops, and provision of emergency relief supplies. The governor
also met with top federal security officials, including Nigeriaās
president and the chief of defense staff, to demand urgent
intervention.
Despite these measures, confidence
in Nigeriaās ability to protect its Christian communities continues to
erode. As international organizations monitor the situation, urgent
calls for justice, protection, and humanitarian aid are rising.
King Charlesā Easter Message Accelerates Britainās Fall
Tuesday, April 22, 2025
The Spectator : The Kingās anti-Christian statement and mass arrests for those voicing unfashionable opinions are ugly signs of Britainās rapid decline.
āTis the timesā plague, when madmen lead the blind.ā - William Shakespeare, King Lear
Last Friday marked the 250th anniversary
of the Shot Heard Round the World.
King Charles BELITTLES Christianity!
This was the first musket shot of
the American Revolution, fired across the old North Bridge near
Lexington. No one knows who shot first, the British regiment on one side
of the bridge or the Minute Men on the other. But everyone knows what
came of it ā the birth of a great nation and the perseverance of
another.
Today, America is still rising after twice this century
rejecting malevolent suicidal leadership. While Great Britain embraced
it and is thus collapsing fast. But there is a difference to the current UK ruling Liberal Party ā and Christians are getting the worst of it.
The tragedy affects not only the islandās population but all people
like me who revere the countryās history and literature dating back a
thousand years before the United States existed, indeed leading to its
foundation. Iāll always have indelible mental images and lines from
British fact and fiction:
King Arthur rousing his Knights of the Round Table (6th Century).
Beowulf swimming deep into the lair of Grendelās Hag mother
(8th Century). King Alfred hiding in the swamp from the savage Danes yet
dreaming of uniting England as a Christian nation (878 AD). King Henry
II calling for the murder of Thomas Beckett (1170) ā āWill no one rid me
of this turbulent priest?ā
King John either signing the actual Magna
Carta (1215) or cursing the legendary Robin Hood. King Henry V at the
Battle of Agincourt or Shakespeareās Henry V at Agincourt ā āAnd
gentlemen in England now a-bed/Shall think themselves accursed they were
not here/And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks/That fought
with us upon Saint Crispinās day.ā
The present King of England, Charles III, had a decidedly less saintly message
this past Easter, one as far as possible from Alfredās unifying
Christian vision: āOn Maundy (Holy) Thursday, Jesus knelt and washed the
feet of many of those who would abandon Him,ā Charles wrote. āHis
humble action was a token of His love that knew no bound or boundaries
and is central to Christian belief.⦠The love He showed when He walked
the Earth reflected the Jewish ethic of caring for the stranger and
those in need, a deep human instinct echoed in Islam and other religious
traditions, and in the hearts of all who seek the good of others.ā
Spectator : Modern popes, for better or for worse, tend to be defined in soundbites. John Paul IIās clarion call of āBe not afraidā became emblematic of his invitation to young Catholics to embrace their faith and his rallying of the West against the specter of international communism.
The Death of Pope Francis
Benedict XVIās great theological career, and his term as a pope in the model of priest and professor, remains summed up in his simple declaration that Deus caritas est. For Francis, the world will likely remember, in the immediate weeks after his death anyway, his often quoted, though often misrepresented, motto of āwho am I to judge?ā
Uttered during one of his habitual in-flight press conferences in response to a question about gay clergy who sought to live their ministry and their lives faithful to the Churchās teaching on human sexuality, it became a shorthand for a pope committed more than anything to a radical posture of welcome ā a āVatican Council II pope,ā he was dubbed in the media, dedicated to throwing open wide the Churchās doors to Catholics, and indeed to everyone, without censure or reservation about their complicated lives.
But if that is how the world saw Francis, those living with and within the bubble of the daily life of the worldās largest Church will remember a different kind of pope ā a contradictory and mercurial pontiff who often appeared less like a sure helmsman of the bark of St Peter and more like a man struggling to ride a horse bolting in several directions at once.
Trump Slams āAnti-Christian Biasā In Easter Speech : āStopping Radical Indoctrination In Schoolsā¦ā
Monday, April 21, 2025
I am not an American but I totally support President Trump in his efforts to not suppress the rights of Christians everywhere. God Bless America. At least Mr. Trump is not silent like UK. May God bless you Mr. Trump.
Real tears. Real reactions. Real homecomings. This is the most powerful collection of soldier reunions ever capturedāraw, unfiltered, and straight from the heart. From surprise hugs to emotional first embraces, these moments will stay with you long after the video ends. No acting. No scripts. Just pure love, sacrifice, and the joy of coming home.
According to a new study, young Brits are becoming Catholic. Of course this is happening. According to Tocqueville, any return to religion in the West is going to tend toward Catholicism. I am 17 and English, I was attending an Anglican church service but now I will be baptised into the Catholic church on Saturday, pray for me.
Iām 22 years old and Irish. I grew up with a non religious catholic dad and non religious Jehovah witness mother. Iām getting baptised, confirmed and first communion this weekend. Praise God. I am an American and I am joining the Catholic Church this Easter.
I'll be baptized into the Catholic Church this weekend. Was never baptized as a baby. 52 years old. Coming from 2 decades of New Age practice, I was called to Catholicism and my life has completely changed. Biggest blessing of my life.
I'm one of the 24% and I took my wife and daughter with me. I am an ex- muslim. Jesus Christ redeemed me and my family and now we belong to Jesus Christ. He is the way, truth and life.
Iām an English practicing Catholic. I am delighted to say that my church in Kent is full for every mass. Praise be to God & God bless you all. Iām a revert, 20 years away from the Catholic Church from New Age to Protestant and now back home and so grateful for Godās grace and His Eucharist.
My Catholic church here in England was packed for the Good Friday liturgy yesterday. Standing room only. The ceremony of Creeping to the Cross seemed to go on forever. So beautiful. Iām English and Catholic.

Gen X here , my wife and I are being received into the Catholic church tomorrow ( Easter Saturday). My wife is ex Baptist, I am ex CoE. There is a huge flow into the Catholic church, of every age, but especially the young Gen Z...God be praised
