RAIR Foundation : The Hadith of Ghazwa-e-Hind, ascribed to Muhammad, prophesies a future conflict between Muslims and non-Muslims in the Indian subcontinent—a prediction of Islam’s ultimate triumph, promising paradise to Muslims for killing all Hindus in India.
The aftermath of the hostilities and violence that are taking place between Israel and Hamas continues to have a far-reaching impact within the complex and ever-changing domain of geopolitics. This conflict has triggered intense, passionate debates, reactions, and responses around the world, including in India.
A large section of the sizeable Muslim community in the country has become increasingly radicalized against Jews due to decades of extremist indoctrination that is carried on primarily in Islamic madrassas and mosques. Therefore, the social and cultural implications transcend far beyond the region’s boundaries and have some profound consequences.
The Middle East conflict has brought forth into public discussion the deep underlying divisions and tensions that exist between two of the largest religious groups in the country, the native Hindus and the Muslims.
After the Hamas terror attacks, there have been frequent instances where several Muslim social media influencers, clerics, and religious leaders in India have added fuel to the fire by polarizing their followers against Jews and also taking the jihad to another order of magnitude by inciting genocide against the Hindus in India.
Muslims in India specifically have been very vocal about the issue, and religious fundamentalism amongst the Muslims has led to a zealous support for the anti-Israel, pro-Hamas cause. Various Muslim political parties, NGOs/Activist Groups, and student organizations have also used this as a golden opportunity to engage in inflammatory rhetoric against their old enemies, the Hindus. Post the attacks on Israel, several rallies, marches, and demonstrations across the country in support of Hamas were organized by Indian Muslims.
India has a very long and violent history with Islamic invasions for centuries and Muslim riots even in modern times, post its independence in 1947. In September-October 1969, riots occurred between Hindus and Muslims in Gujarat, India. It was a major riot that involved death, arson, looting, and rapes committed by Muslims.
A dispute in Ahmedabad involving a Muslim shrine led to widespread riots not just in other districts of the state but also across several states of India. Although the official death tally stood at 660, unverified estimates went as high as 2,000.
More recently, in 1984, Bhiwandi, a town in Maharashtra, witnessed another chapter of rioting started by Muslims. The official number of casualties stood at 278, while unofficial reports estimated it at over 700, most of them being Hindus.Read it all here......
