The MOE may have stirred a hornets nest

Via WhatsApp : The MOE may have stirred a hornets nest as many are questioning as to why non Muslims must listen to their prayers and stand during doa at official functions. Not only that, the lifting of the hands during Military parades goes against the grain of the Constitution. I once did not do it, my 2IC and the Adjutant went ape-shit on me in Bukit China. Both of them were Chinese!!

Pls see below what the Constitution says on this matter. Many of us were/are ignorant of this. Now it will go viral and these extremist will be challenged. Bitten more than they can chew.

Article 12(3) of the constirution reads : "No person shall be required to receive instruction in or to take part in any ceremony or act of worship of a religion other than his own."

This means that when doa prayers are recited at any official function, eg opening of Parliament, School Assemblies, first thing in the morning at the EPF and presumably. at all Govt depts, GLC and GLiC and other Malay institutions and entities, then, in accordance with Article 12(3) of our supreme law, this must be done in one of two ways viz:

(a) all Muslim employees must go to a special assembly hall for those prayers, or;

(b) all non-Muslim employees must vacate the particular hall or room where the Muslims are listening to the doa. There are no two ways about it!

The fact is, non-Muslims have, over the past 62 years, found their position as equal citizens under the 1957 Federal Constitution, been steadily encroached upon and have grown to accept an increasingly unjust system. The aggressor has been the apparatchiks manning the levers of power, both in State and Federal governments.

But the Nons acquiesced in this gradual surrender of their civic rights! They made feeble protests at most. We deserve to be treated as lesser people, because we subscribed to such an implicit definition.

We all need to share and spread Article 12(3) for a better country, so share this. Edited by me to show my experience.
