Malaysiakini : DAP MP urges govt to probe 'wrong dead son' incident.
PARLIAMENT | The government has been urged to conduct an independent investigation into the incident involving a family who was wrongfully informed of their son’s death in prison and almost cremated the body they brought home.
M Kulasegaran (Pakatan Harapan-Ipoh Barat) called on Putrajaya to take action against prison officers who were negligent in this incident and for putting two families involved in emotional distress.
He also questioned how the mix-up happened when all inmates were assigned identification numbers.
“How was the death registered and the death certificate produced? How is it possible that a person who was still alive could be said to be dead?” he questioned in the Dewan Rakyat today when debating the 2023 Supply Bill.
Steven Ong : “Is the government going to take action to ensure that such incidents would not happen again?” he said, adding that he had met both families.
One way to correct the incompetence in all government linked institution is by replacing the heads and top post with competent and qualified Malaysians. No more ' orang kita' or ' our boy ' business if all are serious about not only the the poor performance but also dangerous situation that may trigger a civil war.
SeniorCitizen : This is a definite major faux pas on the part of the relevant authorities and needs urgent, in-depth investigations to find the causes and for appropriate action to be taken to prevent any such recurrence.
Dr Suresh Kumar : I can't bear to think about the trauma these two families are going through. It's unbelievable. Will someone be held responsible in a land where civil servants are appointed based on merit and efficiency?
Will heads roll? Never as that is not the culture in Boleh land. I hope these two families get due justice, which I doubt as most issues concerning non-Malays, especially Indians, will be swept under the carpet and stamped NFA.
Very concerned citizen : Mr.Kula,I wrote my comments as below when it was reported earlier in Malaysiakini: How many more “murders” must happen in prisons and lock ups before someone is answerable?
So many deaths has happened at prisons and lock ups but no one has been charged. Are we living in a “ police state”. Where is the Minister of home affairs in all these deaths? Has he called for an independent body to check these deaths in the prison?
Read all the brickbats for the prisons department here.....When will the full and unchanged IPCMC will be implemented? Saudara Anwar, you have experienced the jail and now as the PM what are you going to do on all these deaths?
