Dress code enforcement: Hospital guards will improve - MOH

Guess the West, China and India  can eject people wearing hijabs and skullcaps with a clear conscience. As that clothing do not display the customs and local values which seriously segregate society. Take note countries with different values and beliefs.

Malaysiakini : Authorities overseeing Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan have described the recent barring of a visitor due to dress code violations as a "misunderstanding".

Pahang health director Dr Nor Azimi Yunus assured there will be continued efforts to improve the communication between hospital security staff in handling visitors.

"Admittedly, sometimes there are conflicts due to a difference in definition when enforcing dress codes in government premises. "Nevertheless, to balance the matter, we must prioritise being considerate and communication," she said in a statement last night.

Azimi said the incident occurred at the hospital on March 7. A video of the incident uploaded to Twitter attracted the attention of Deputy Health Minister Lukanisman Awang Sauni, who pledged to investigate the matter.

In the clip, the middle-aged woman appeared silent while a man who was recording appeared to be arguing with a security guard. According to the narration in the clip, the "hospital management" had denied the woman entry.

Headhunter : That is why there never should be a dress code. Fashion changes all the time. Look at torn jeans for example. Even royalties are seen wearing them.

It's very subjective and impossible to enforce fairly. If religious bigots have their way, all our women would be wearing the black burka and veil. As long as people are attired decently, we should accept it.

Are we so sex crazed that even looking at an elderly woman's knees can cause them to go amok? We should be more concerned with our declining wealth and health.

Flying without wings : Misunderstanding???? Apologise.... YOU have no right to impose these codes on people visiting their loved ones, in house or outpatient individuals undergoing or seeking treatment.

By all means impose code on STAFF whether medical ..support..admin.. technical staff... you are there to SERVE.... that is why you are called government or civil servants... servants of public... LEAD BY EXAMPLE. You dress well... be polite... respect people and you will be treated the same.

OrangePigeon6081 : Always the same reason given, misunderstanding my foot.If they can't even understand the simple rules of dress code than you expect them to keep the hospital safe? This health minister is really not performing at all. AI please take note. Those not performing please change.

libra : It is very negative. You dont force. People are not without brains. They are free to dress which they are comfortable with. The Hospital seem irresponsible allowing a security guard to enforce power to deny entry of a visitor. The Hospital ought to be ashamed for allowing indoctrinated individuals to enforce dress code--to tutup aurat? What a bloody shame.
