He said such activities are what the Religious Affairs Department (Jakim) seeks to stamp out through its "Stop fitnah (slander) on social media" campaign. "This initiative is very apt because we want to ensure that society gets the right information or news that is authentic and true.

"Immoral activities on social media, such as news reports that are fake and sometimes recycled, aim to spark hatred and anger among society," Idris (above) said in a Facebook post last night.  He expressed concern that spreading falsehoods on social media would become a cancer that affects future generations.

As such, Idris said social media users today must break the chain and save future generations from the harmful effects of slander.

OCT : All PAS leaders are delivering false news as their statements and accusations are done without evidence or facts. PAS falsehood is a daily affair. This Idris can only condemn others without taking a look at its own party and the coalition. He is a true hypocrite. 

Set a good example of yourselves first before advising others. Rakyat has eyes and ears to see who is speaking the truth or lies. Rakyat don't need Idris to tell them. Idris has no moral and locus standi to tell others when he himself cannot do it correctly. A good and upright person will personify himself first before telling others. Like Mohamed said 'He who has not told any lies or sin, let him cast the first stone'. 

This Idris is like a crab trying to teach how to walk straight. Corruption is more serious and dangerous than lies. Corruption is bringing Malaysia down. Malaysia is well known to be the most corrupted country in the world. This is not false but true. Why doesn't he says something about it?

Optimus : Keep your campaign to muslims only since jakim would be using teachings from the Quran and hadith, and not turn it into another brainwashing and islamisation exercise. Much better if jakim carry out more campaigns to raise awareness of the unacceptable practices of child marriages and stop the many rape cases in the two east coast states.

Federal Bakery : Virtuous it may be but it is not complete. The campaign, if it one may call it that must also deal with slanders against different communities, the community as a whole, and against civil institutions. 

The constant attack by one religious leader against other religions appears to have become permissible in our society. It is slander of the most malicious kind to suggest that corruption, for instance is attributable to ‘other’ religions. And it is slander that attempts to forgive the real sources of corruption. 

Politicians lying to the people is another form of slander that must be added because it slanders the intelligence of the Rakyat. Also, this Jaga of public morals had nothing to say when the entire judicial system and respectable judges were slandered to save the necks of proven criminals. Where is the moral injunction against false accusations against judges? 

As if that was not enough, the health system was maligned for not extending special privileges to a felon. Social media is heavily regulated by laws that would catch most of the examples sited by the minister. But there are not sufficient laws to to control what comes out of the mouths of politicians of how they abuse the trust that is placed on them. 

There is no fitnah that comes anywhere near the dishonest moves that removed an elected government. The minister will be more convincing if he picked the right targets for his moral code.

apanama is back : Oh my goodness! Why in the early morning I need to watch cartoon? Idris, I have one suggestion for you. There is no need of wasting taxpayers' money on all these so-called countering slander or 'anti-fitnah' campaign at all. 

The moment PAS leaders stop making nonsense statements, bizarre statements and stand-up comedy acts, ALL these slanders will stop/disappear immediately. You remember the era before your party joined the government by backdoor? Long back no one make any slander at all because you people have nothing to say. 

PAS is the main and real root causes of these slander in the very first place which are actually mocking and making fun of you people. What 'fitnah' actually you meant? Your statement is too general and not specific. Since JAKIM is given RM2 billion in the budget there is NOTHING tangible, thus you need to come up with this so-called 'anti-fitnah' campaign. 

By the way, election in on the way, so this 'wayang'. How about your President making slander statements? First, he slanders non-Malay and non-Muslim. Second, he slanders Harapan. When we countered him, you call that slander? This is twisted logic. 

You people are purely incompetent and stupid. You could not debate and argue in a logical manner. Either use this JAKIM to hide your own weakness or makes police report and send latter of demand. What else you could think about when your cognitive faculty is locked?
