Rudyard Kipling"
“When you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur"
“We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”
“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.” “Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .” “The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
A
non-Muslim man was seen being slapped by an older man in a viral video
after a verbal altercation over eating in public during Ramadan.
Unity
Minister Aaron Ago Dagang confirms the victim has lodged a police
report, describing the incident as a provocation that goes against the
spirit of religious harmony.
Police urge anyone with information on the case to contact the Johor Bahru Utara district police headquarters.
A
non-Muslim man has lodged a police report after he was slapped in
public for eating at a convenience store in the daytime during Ramadan,
which was captured on video.
The incident drew the ire of National
Unity Minister Aaron Ago Dagang who confirmed that the victim, who
identified himself on X as Elijah, had lodged a report at the Tampoi
police station in Johor Bahru. According to Elijah, he was having a meal at a convenience store when his attacker, an elderly man, confronted him.
“I was just eating normally and the uncle asked if I am Chinese or not. I said yes, because that’s a normal question. “Then
he wanted me to show my IC, even though we cannot just show our IC to
strangers,” he said in a series of postings on X yesterday.
“After
that, he asked me if I’m Muslim or non-Muslim, and he scolded me for
eating (in public) during the fasting month, even though I am not Muslim
and I did not disturb him. “He even slapped me several times,”
said the victim who shared two short videos of the incident which
occurred inside a Johor Bahru mall.
Elijah
added that the attacker’s son stepped in to apologise on the elderly
man’s behalf, and while he accepted the apology, he said the case cannot
be left unreported. According to the minister, the case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
‘Provocationagainstunityspirit’
Aaron condemned any use of violence, acts of discrimination, and prejudice that could harm interethnic harmony. “This incident is a provocation that does not reflect the spirit of unity and harmony in our multiracial country.
Veteran 1972 : Non Muslims need to stop being doormats for Muslims. Teach this holier than thou Muslim a lesson that he will be left with only his underpants. Sue him, kow, kow, show no mercy, mental or not.
They always walk away with nary a slap on their wrists. Time to stand up, the assailant was against our Constitution. He needs to be a taught a lesson, remembering this incident forever, mental or not.
World Citizen : This is totally ridiculous. The NM guy was eating in a mall and this Muslim guy slaps him for eating. Elijah should sue this guy for at least RM50,000 for causing hurt and humiliating him in public. No apologies accepted. Hope he gets a good lawyer. Don't ever settle as this it will encourage other such fools to do the same.
BrownGoose2196 : Dear Minister Ago, this has nothing to do with Unity or no unity. It is a simple case of bully. It is a police case, an assault, a bully case. So, please be clear about it.
Gerard Lourdesamy : What is this? I would have slapped that man back. Who does he think he is? What was the son doing during this assault?
Which law says that a non-Muslim cannot eat or drink in public during Ramadan? On top of that the old fool was wearing a jubah pretending to be some holy person. The arrogance of these people has no limits.
The man should be arrested and charged in court. I advise the victim to also file a civil suit for assault and battery, nervous shock and distress against the old man and bankrupt him. Each time we try to forgive and forget with these people we still get slapped by them.
Meerkat : This is not just provocation. It is criminal assault. Just imagine what would happen if the roles were reversed.
How did people get so arrogant, as to mete out judgement as though they were gods?
What is it about this "sin" that sets people off so easily. How about other sins? For example, where is the outrage against corruption? Where is the outrage when Teo Beng Hock was killed? Were these not greater sins?
