But leave it to the Iranian Mullas to try the impossible. Lately, behind closed doors, they have really upgraded their technology standards, partly because of the fear of Israel. And coincidentally it was the same Israelis who disrupted their meticulously planned attempt to assassinate Donald Trump.
The day before yesterday, the US made it public that a plot to assassinate Donald Trump was foiled by the FBI. My foot! It was Mossad who exposed the plot and handed it on a dish to the FBI but still they failed to stop it. The truth behind America's failure to unravel the plot would have been very embarrassing, hence the credit was given to the FBI. And Israel didn't really want to take credit as they were already having a lot of trouble from Iran.
The people behind the Plot...
The mastermind of the plot was Farhad Shakeri, an asset of the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Core), the parallel premier military force in Iran. Shakeri was a deeply embedded Iranian asset in America, he had spent 14 years in American jails and was now absconding somewhere in Iran. He maintained a network of criminal associates enlisted by Tehran for surveillance and Murder for Hire plots.
Shakeri had engaged two underworld Americans, Carlisle Rivera and Jonathan Loadholt to carry out the Trump assassination plot.
The Plot was ingenious indeed!
As disclosed by one of the would-be assailants who has been arrested, the plan was to eliminate Trump just before the election results. Because, if he became President, it will be a different ball game altogether as many countries would be at the receiving end his security would also be raised even further as POTUS.
As you have recently witnessed in the war with Israel, Iran has taken giant leaps in technology, especially in military hardware and drone technology.
The most sophisticated of drones in Iran's arsenal is the Zanbor! Which means the insect Bee in Persian. It is an unmanned, remote controlled micro air vehicle. Basically, an AI enabled Micro Drone. Very small in size, roughly around 3 cms, and it resembles a Bumble Bee, it even sounds like one. It has voice recognition software and can carry about 9 gms of RDX which explodes on contact. It can weave in and out of a crowd without anybody recognising it as a lethal Micro Drone.
The plot was to release this Micro Drone in Trump's last rally at Philadelphia and have it strike Donald while he was speaking at the rally. The 9 gms of RDX is powerful enough to blow his head to bits. On the day, the full focus of security would be on rooftops for snipers or an assailant carrying a weapon posing as a Trump fan. Nobody would be looking out for a harmless Bumble Bee flying amidst the crowd.
The voice recognition software would single out Trump and the Zanbor would hone in on him and finish him off for good.
The selected area for Trump's last rally was a lightly wooded area in the suburbs of the city. The complete area would be sanitized by security from the day before. So the plan was for Jonathan, one of the assailants, to leave the Zanbor on a tree in sleep mode two nights before the rally, and to be activated on the day of the rally.
So the weapon and location for the assassination was all set for the D-Day without the FBI getting a hint of what was afoot. Only the Mossad, who had 24x7 surveillance on Farhad Shakeri had an inkling that an aerial assassination attempt might be afoot and warned the FBI. But the FBI was very confident of their sanitization process and paid little heed to Mossad's warning. Though they did set up radars at the rally location to be on the safe side.
Finally the D-Day arrived. Republicans had already started trickling into the rally site. The FBI had completed their site sanitation process, and then finally Donald Trump arrived right on time to be welcomed by thundering cheers from his supporters. He climbed the dias, waved to the crowd and started his speech.
Meanwhile, the assailants woke up the sleeping Zanbor as Farhad Shakeri monitored the action from far off Iran. The entire top brass of the IRGC watched in tense silence. It was going to be a huge Islamic victory if they succeeded in eliminating Donald Trump who was a sworn enemy of the Iranian regime.
But God had willed otherwise and there's many a slip between success and disaster. The most meticulously planned operations often ended in failure.
As the Zanbor was woken up as soon as Trump started his speech, it started flying as per the commands of its remote handler. Its voice recognition software detected Trump's voice from the nearest loudspeaker amplifying Trump's speech for the vast crowd. It was something which the Mullas hadn't planned for. Instead of flying towards Trump, it zeroed in on the nearest loudspeaker, crashed against it and exploded. What could the poor Zanbor do, its voice recognition software was written to recognise Trump's voice through a speaker. The radars at the site did detect a blip but had soon lost it as the Zanbor was flying low just over the crowds. The FBI didn't have a clue of what had happened!
The explosion triggered mayhem. Trump was hurriedly rushed into his highly protected, armour-clad limousine and whisked away from the scene. The crowd dispersed and thankfully no one was hurt. Only the Chief of IRGC received a resounding kick from the supreme leader Ali Khameini for the failure of the mission.
The incident was quickly hushed up as it was a glaring failure of American security. Nobody talked about Mossad's warning. The White House issued a statement just saying that an unsuccessful attempt was made on Donald Trump's life.
The world breathed a sigh of relief. A certain leader from the Indian subcontinent expressed concern and relief at his narrow escape and repeated a reassuring old slogan on the telephone, Aab ki baar, Trump sarkar!
Thus ended the assassination saga in total failure. It had the massive potential to turn the world upside down by upsetting the world's power balance.
