Rudyard Kipling"
“When you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur"
“We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”
“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.” “Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .” “The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
7 years' jail, rotan against 'public figure' Syed Saddiq justified, rules judge By Hidir Reduan Abdul Rashid
Friday, November 29, 2024
Malaysiakini : The Kuala Lumpur High Court ruled that the seven-year jail term, two
rotan strokes and RM10 million fine against Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul
Rahman is appropriate as young people looked up to the Muar MP.
In
a written grounds of judgment dated yesterday, trial judge Azhar Abdul
Hamid said the punishment was justified as the criminal court took
judicial notice of the constant recurring incidents of criminal breach
of trust (CBT) and misappropriation.
TC : Irrespective of his Tun connection and Zakir Naik hug or his withdrawal of support for Madani government , the punishment is grossly not proportionate to Najib Razak 6 years and no caning for xxxx times the amount .
Obviously this is to prolong his court cases until the highest court irrespective of the verdict. This is perceived to be a political bias just like the LGE case. Our only consolation is our judiciary is one of the few brag sheet compared to the red dot.
Steven Ong : The judges , courts and office in Malaysia are so funny . One who stole billions are as smartly dress as if he is in office, got jail sentence reduce to 6 years, fine reduced by more than half , sleep in a mansion within the prison compound.
And one who is alleged to have mishandled about a million got 7 years, two rotan and fine 10 millions. Hahaha....
And then the one who got a DNAA when the 47 charges against him is beyond doubt. And then again a DNAA , all because the prosecution refuse to provide documents to the defendant.
So funny , haha
Then in the office , we have one who rejected a international criminal laws , but want a man to be charged under the laws. Its funny because he rejected the laws because his supporters had the potential to commit the crimes. Haha, so funny.
Laugh as it is funny or one may succumb to the sad and sick views around him.
My maths tells me 42 million should have been 147 years.
Fair Comments : I am very very confused.
The former PM was sentenced 12 years, then halved to 6 years jail by the YDPA for an offence involving multi-billion Ringgit and no caning whereas SS is sentenced to 7 years jail for an offence involving less than RM2m plus caning.
According to the judge SS being a Parliamentarian must be held to higher standard of behaviour hence a heavier sentence compared to ordinary folks. Going by the same logic the former PM, being the top leader of the country must be held to even higher standard of behaviour and therefore sentenced to much ;longer jail term.
I am puyzzled!!!
Vijay47 : Wow, a truly unique basis for the decision!
Are we to assume that if a certain category of politicians do not enjoy the respect and admiration of substantial segments of society, as perhaps in the case of those who receive divinely inspired blessings of DNAAs, the relevant accused is entitled to more generous interpretations of the law?
Everyday, I learn something new! I wonder how a RM6.6 billion heist by a seasoned politician measures! Wow again!
