Rudyard Kipling"
“When you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur"
“We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”
“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.” “Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .” “The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

Malaysiakini : COMMENT | For over two decades, all Anwar Ibrahim ever dreamt about was to be prime minister. But 18 months into his premiership,
many Malaysians will agree that no other prime minister has managed to
upset us terribly, and at the same time, court more controversy.
We willingly voted for him, but once he became PM, and to “borrow” his choice of words, he then “stabbed us in the back”. We
did not expect overnight results but we are alarmed that since becoming
PM, he has shown that he is a politician of stark paradoxes.
Some
Malaysians claim that Anwar appears to concentrate more on his image on
the international platform rather than dwell on serious issues on the
home stage. They are unhappy with Anwar’s open support of Hamas and wonder why he does not focus his efforts on helping the downtrodden and marginalised at home.
We
knew he had been shabbily treated by his former boss, Dr Mahathir
Mohamad, so we supported efforts to free him from the injustice that had
been meted towards him.
We await the promised reforms, demand
that elite criminals be properly punished, and hope that minority groups
will receive equal treatment and justice. We know that zero tolerance
towards racism and prejudice is hoping for too much.
Commenting has been disabled for this story : Anwars use of the word "stab" is perplexing
I doubt he would use that word when speaking to Chinese
Does he think that Indians are violent and emotional?
ANNONYMOUS : Yup, in the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king!
For 25 years we loved him, we cried for him, embraced him, and supported him & his family and we were tear-gassed and brutalised in our Bersih walk for him.
We wholeheartly believed him and touted him as our "saviour" to save us, as we bought his many "PROMISES" to carry out the much needed critical institutional reforms to unite and save the people and bring the country forward.
Yes, we do not expect overnight results. But we should have know his true character, his failed leadership and broken promises as evidently clear in Selangor, where PKR govt in power, despite having ABSOLUTE power and a powerful 2/3 MAJORITY and full people's mandate in the State Assembly for 4 LONG TERMS, YES, COMING TO 20 LONG YEARS IN POWER under PKR to govern the most industralised state, Selangor is now a rotting URBAN
SLUMP: the infra and roads are decaying, filth and dangerous potholes, illegal and killer road humps everywhere, the rivers are toxic, filthy and polluted, the wet markets and hawker food centres are unsightly, smelly, filthy and worse than 3rd world standards, the moral decay, abuse and corruption still triumph in the state, the same incompetent, inefficient and bloated Civil Servants and
little Napoleans still rule over the people, there is ZERO meritocracy and the best leaders are not appointed to lead, the racist quota system and 2 R policy still triumph in the state administration, in the schools and in every institution in Sgor and etc and etc and the countless failures is just too long to list here!!
Yes, despite Anwar & PKR's MB and PKR with absolute power coming to 20 years in power to lead for progress- NOTHING HAS CHANGED IN SELANGOR, BUT IN FACT, SGOR IS REGRESSING as NOT EVEN A SINGLE ONE OF THE PROMISED AND MUCH NEEDED INSTITUTIONAL REFORMS HAD BEEN IMPLEMENTED IN SELANGOR TO UNITE & SAVE THE PEOPLE AND BRING THE COUNTRY FORWARD,
except for some unnecessary cheap monthly HUGE banners with photos of PKR & DAP politicians that is obvious and prominently mounted at the road junctions (UMNO STYLE!!) promoting & handing out some cheap freebies and crumbs to the people of Sgor to buy votes!!
Despite having ABSOLUTE 2/3 MAJORITY and full people's mandate in Sgor for coming to 20 years, but yet Anwar failed to deliver!!!
And expecting/hoping for positive change to save the country from this fake reformist is impossible and has turned into our nightmare as his failures and ZERO leadership and ZERO integrity is so glaring in Selangor even the blind could see now in the country!
Yes, in the last 25 years, Anwar Ibrahim scammed all of us to support him as PM, with his many empty PROMISES, and fake election manifesto.
A nacissistic Islamist politician, with ZERO integrity, ZERO leadership, ZERO vision and a fake reformist who will further divide and destroy the country, if only perpetuating the same 60 years'
2 R agenda/risking the country by supporting Hamas (10,000km away!!) on a war that has severe geopolitical implications that he knows nothing about that will destroy any small country with his foolish/ partisan acts in a conflict involving the global's superpowers, that all ASEAN leaders(except Anwar!) wisely stayed away!
In the last 60 years,
Malaysia has been regressing and is proven to be a basket case! And whoever is appointed as PM to rule, Msia will continue to regress.
And in the last 60 years, despite the country drowning $Trillions in debts, racism, corruption & leakages plaguing the country, the 2 R policy is being perpetuated,
Anwar is continously throwing $billions in increase salaries to feed the world's most bloated & most unproductive so-called "civil service", and feeding the biggest welfare state in the world where only 20% minorities of the population pay income tax to feed the overly bloated and unproductive civil service and the 80% of the population who don't pay Income tax.
This is a receipe for disaster.
With such policies, Anwar and Msia is the only country in the world that has planned to fail in the last 60 years and in the next 60 years! Goodbye Msia!!
