Rudyard Kipling"
āWhen you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldierā
General Douglas MacArthur"
āWe are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.ā
āIt is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.ā āOld soldiers never die; they just fade away.
āThe soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.ā
āMay God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .ā āThe object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
āNobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
āIt is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Activist rues being hauled up over post on temple desecrator
Sunday, May 05, 2024
Malaysiakini : A social activist has found himself under authoritiesā investigation
over a social media post, where he urged action against an individual
who desecrated a temple.
According to Dominic Damian, he was
questioned by Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC)
officers, who also confiscated his phone, for sharing a video clip of
the incident on X.
It is believed that the video he shared was of an incident at Kampung Koh in Manjung, Perak, over which case police arrested a 35-year-old suspect on April 6.
The
41-second video, which appeared to have been recorded by an
unidentified perpetrator during the act, was shared by Damian a day
earlier (April 5) with a statement saying, āBuggers like this have been
getting away on the premise of mental illnesses. Please help nab this
rotting carcass of a disrespectful scumā.
He
claimed that three MCMC officers accompanied by two police personnel
came to his house on April 24 and requested him to follow them to the
Sentul district police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, where they then
questioned him over his allegedly racist tweet.
āThis post, as far as I can interpret to my perception or conscience, is in no way racial in nature. āThis
post was incidentally forwarded to the police as well for action. The
intention is that action should be taken against the perpetrator of the
deed.
āHowever, the MCMC officers asserted and insisted that the
post is racist and as such deemed and defined as offensive and they are
acting based on complaints,ā Damian said in an editorial piece published
by Australian blogger Murray Hunter, (this link is blocked).
According to the activist, the investigators indicated that MCMC was acting based on a complaint but said they could not divulge any information on who lodged it.
One of the MCMC officers allegedly told Damian that he should have taken the matter to the authorities instead of posting it on a social media platform.
SV : The best way to send a message to PMX is via the ballot box at KKB!
PH has not walked the talk.
Steven Ong : As far as most fair minded Malaysians believes, there is no crime committed. Maybe its a case of the law keeper trying to please their supporters?
Alerting the people of a mad man going around showing his hatred for certain religion is civic mindedness. and not a crime.
Unless the law keeper assume it is an attempt to insult them because the vadalism was committed by a member of their circle?
Vijay47 : This is simply mind-boggling and unbelievable. It is another classic example of the crazy attitudes and enforcement action that we have to live with every day at increasing frequency. And to make it worse, the issue is served with hefty doses of both law and lawlessness.
Looking at the accusation of racism, a simple analysis of Dominic Damianās comments reveals four descriptions that could generally be attributable to individuals or institutions ā bug-gers, mental illnesses, rotting carcass, and disrespectful scum.
But to which individuals or institutions as to be classified as āracist in natureā? Or is MCMC now assuming the stand that Mankind itself cannot be referred to in uncomplimentary terms?
Secondly, Dominic was actually rendering a service to the public ā by alerting readers of the vandalism at the temple, he was advising caution, warning of crazies who were prowling about desecrating places of worship.
This is now illegal? Donāt we also often read about āForeign-looking persons wandering around in expensive cars looking for houses to robā? That by the same yardstick is not illegal?
And to justify Dominicās social media post, the alleged vandalism-perpetrator has been arrested by the police.
The natural conclusion is that the MCMC investigation is unabated intimidation and harassment. Like Tony Puaās case (Whatever happened to it?), nothing will come out of Dominic Damian being summoned to the MCMC lair. What can they charge him with, what crime did he commit?
Even the AG would not push for further action.
The warning must be that we cannot highlight criminal deeds that only bug-gers, mental illnesses, rotting carcass, and disrespectful scum are known to commit.
Perhaps we are being gently reminded of Anwar Ibrahimās immortal words āWe must respect all religions especially Islamā.
middle path
: MCMC again is rearing it's ugly heads. Nothing racist in comments. Problem is many little napoleon's in MCMC who takes pleasure in exercing the little authority entrusted to them. Typical of them.
Dr Suresh Kumar : What was written by Damian shows that he is obviously upset, frustrated and angry with the perpetrator/s and there was no mention of the race of the evil perpetrator/s, so where is the racism in this? This is what happens when a certain group is afraid of its own shadow. Under Madani the country is fast becoming a police state.
LimeGuppy5931 : " One of the MCMC officers allegedly told Damian that he should have taken the matter to the authorities instead of posting it on a social media platform. "
MCMC, tell this to Firdaus Wong who made the socks issue viral on a social media platform which has started the racial ruckus instead of reporting to the authorities.
DISGUSTING DOUBLE STANDARD by the authorities
Akmal, Firdaus Wong, the vigilantes and the Molotov cocktail throwers are still at large and no further action has been taken.
BluePanther4725 : The Police was quick to take actions against those who insulted Islam, but when it comes to those who insult other religions, the MCMC and Police nabbed the person who reported the offence instead. The MCMC and Police are practicing racism and double standards.
