Rudyard Kipling"
“When you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur"
“We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”
“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.” “Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .” “The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
This is what being hurt really feels like By Mariam Mokhtar

Malaysiakini : COMMENT | Youth and Sports Minister
Hannah Yeoh said it was “very painful” to hear former prime minister Dr
Mahathir Mohamad questioning the loyalty of the non-Malays. She was also hurt when Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, described DAP as an Umno-Baru “lapdog”.
Trying
to explain to the politician our suffering, in a way that communicates
exactly what we are experiencing, can be a hopeless and difficult task.
Some
people may be articulate, but the very young, the elderly, or those who
are tongue-tied will have no hope of making their MP or state
assemblyperson understand what they are going through, simply because
they do not have the words. While Syed Saddiq’s concerns about Malaysia’s future are justified, he merely mentioned a fraction of our suffering. When in opposition, the Pakatan Harapan coalition promised change, but today, the promises are but a distant memory.
Failure to rein in extremists
Our votes gave them Putrajaya, and while we’re not stupid to think that reforms will happen overnight, we are alarmed by some of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s actions.
The Islamic Development Department
retained a more prominent role and a bigger budget. Why? The
Islamisation process of dress codes, perceived Allah insults in shoes
and socks, crosses that “convert people”, boycotts and institutionalised
voyeurs are crippling the nation.
The threat of the “Green Wave” limited our criticisms of the Madani administration, so we accepted the best of the worst, unlike our neighbours down south, who are led by only the best.
Anwar’s
rude and uncompromising tone when addressing Indian students with
legitimate concerns about education quotas contrasts sharply with his
demeanour when addressing the terrorist Hamas and his delayed action in censuring the rabble-rouser Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh.
“Anak Melayu anak saya. Anak Cina anak saya. Anak India anak saya. Anak Iban atau anak Kadazan, mereka semua anak saya,”
(Malay children are my children. Chinese children are my children.
Indian children are my children. Iban or Kadazan children, they are all
my children - Big Fat Lies) are rendered meaningless.
Anak Hamas and anak Melayu became Anwar’s only children.
The
Madani administration failed to rein in the extremists and racists, as
seen in the Allah socks and shoes scandal. There is foot-dragging for
overhauling the entire education system including the religious schools,
including tahfiz schools. Anwar allegedly made backroom deals with Umno-Baru, to form a coalition government, and that, we find hurtful.
Aristo : So true. The NM never trusted Anwar but still gave him a chance to prove them wrong. Unfortunately he proved them right and betrayed their trust. Like they say a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He doesn’t has what it takes to be a PM for all Malaysians. Too many weaknesses.
He has formed a cabinet that is clueless and incompetent. To get the ministers to even think out of the box is a major task. What the NMs see in this country is just sadness, disappointments and hopelessness after his one and a half year in office.
WhiteLlama4337 : Anak Hamas and anak Melayu became Anwar’s only children - absolutely brilliant summation on Anwar the 'intellectually challenged' by Mariam
Man on the Silver Mountain : The writing was on the wall when Jakim was affirmed in increased budget allocation instead of being reviewed to curb its abuse and wastage. We thought maybe Anwar needed to reinforced his Islamic credential, so ok. But obviously, it didn’t stop there.
I could understand the rather matter of fact response to the Indian girl, I would do the same to explain something I thought was so obvious. On hindsight, his response seemed to be tinged with hardness for the young girl. Inner feeling shows in our reaction even unconsciously. Did he has a thing with Indians, one may think.
Then there was the roadshow to see Erdogan, which was ok, but Hanniyeh, it was not. The latter is an outcast, Anwar should be extra cautious, unless again, his inner feeling says it’s his heart desire.
The hurt is when you fail to be PM for the people, and not just to the Malay Muslims. If the non-Muslims feel they do not have a place in your heart, what there is left to hope in you? Please prove me that I am wrong.
apanama is back : What Green Wave? Anwar Ibrahim is laying the foundation for Green Wave, gradually.
By the way, the current situation in Malaysia is as follows:
"Anak Hamas and anak Melayu became Anwar’s only children."
Whatever his actions are about the two ‘anaks’. Nothing else. The rest are just talking. Look at the allocations in the budget. His pandering of ‘anak Melayu’ is ongoing at the expense of other ‘anaks.’ This is what I observed for the last 17 months.
