Rudyard Kipling"
“When you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur"
“We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”
“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.” “Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .” “The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Baru: PM, police's duty to quell sock-gate fires, not Agong's By Joseph Masilamany
Wednesday, April 10, 2024
Malaysiakini : Sarawak politicians are applauding Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan
Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar for taking the time to have an audience with
Umno and DAP leaders to ease the rising tensions surrounding sock-gate.
Former PKR leader Baru Bian told Malaysiakini
that it was heartening to see the king making an effort to lend his
good counsel to leaders of the two parties to de-escalate the situation
after three KK Mart outlets were firebombed. However, Baru said it
should have been the prime minister and the police’s duty to quell the
fires instead of having the Agong intervene.
“The king had to step
in to ease tensions due to the inaction of the government and/or the
police. The responsibility to quell such tension in the country and to
prevent the situation from escalating any further is the duty of the
police and the administration of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim,” said the
Ba’kelalan assemblyperson, who was a PKR representative but now
represents the Progressive Democratic Party.
“I
hope our prime minister will be more forthcoming to resolve such
matters because we can’t afford to have the king to step in each time
such problems crop up in the country. The prime minister must act
immediately before the situation worsens,” added Baru.
Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar having an audience with Umno leaders regarding the Sock-gate issue
Umno
Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh had instigated a boycott campaign
against KK Mart after socks bearing the word “Allah” were found to be on
sale at an outlet. The convenience store chain quickly apologised
and recalled five pairs of socks with “Allah” on them, but Akmal
pressed on with the boycott campaign to this day.
Besides being
targeted with three firebombings, KK Mart’s founder and wife along with
the supplier of the socks have been charged with hurting religious
feelings.
Anon2000 : When you have a useless PM and a highly questionable police force, someone who cannot be threatened by them, has to step in.
Koklatia : Obviously the Madani goverment have been selectively and efficiently prosecuting the ikan bilis and dare not touch the shark. Sadly, PMX talks like a Tiger but acts like a cat. He is working for himself and "wo men e chia ren" is only for votes
GrayPigeon2115 : You are absolutely right Baru!!! The PMX did nothing about it and the useless Home Minister did nothing about it. The 2 most powerful person in the Government did not do anything about it but instead just close an eye on an Umno youth leader who create disunity, peace and harmony and get away scot-free!!! It is sooo disheartening to see this happening in Malaysia.
mosquitobrain : A dumb, blind and deaf Madani government. How to expect reform from PM X, who dare not even checkmate Umno Baru for causing chaos and anxieties. PM X, is a big flop.
GreenPony8913 : I agree with Baru Brian.
It is the job and responsibility of the PDRM and the govt to de-escalate the tensions incited by 1 person. His ilks literally took on his bigotry to fire bomb 3 KK Marts.
That’s incitement and seditious.
He even went against the YDPA’s first advise to stop.
That’s already treasonous. He needed a second slap on his face.
The YDPA must have noticed the inaction of the PDRM and HM, that’s why he took it upon himself to quell the tensions.
You are all wondering why many opined the PMX is a useless and spineless individual?
He failed to get his own house in order before sticking his nose elsewhere.
Frankly, who would blame Sarawak and Sabah if they insist on secession? Extremism, radicalism and racism is definitely on the rise in the Peninsular.
To PMX, Malay Muslim politicians in general, be careful what you wish for.
AnginLintang : Umno is stepping on madani. This is a show of power to make Anwar look weak and Umno has succeeded. There is only one thing for Anwar to do in order to regain his dignity, that is to make sure that akmal goes to jail and get rotan.
Anwar must make akmal an example. If Anwar fails, nobody will respect him like how people, including Umno disrespected ismail sabri. Will he become ismail sabri? Madani government must prove to us all.
