Rudyard Kipling"
“When you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur"
“We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”
“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.” “Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .” “The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Malaysiakini : Malaysia adopts a balanced foreign policy approach between the West
and East and steers clear of any sort of position that is deemed
provocative, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said today.
He said
Putrajaya engaged well with the United States and Europe, and at the
same time maintained excellent bilateral relations with China, South
Korea, and Japan. “We engage and depend on the support,
collaboration, and investments from the West, such as the United States
and Europe, while at the same time maintaining excellent bilateral
relations with China, (South) Korea, and Japan.
“Especially with
China, as there have been growing investments and interest,” he said at
the Special World Economic Forum’s opening plenary session: “A new
vision for global development”. Cumulatively, the United States is
number one in terms of total investments in Malaysia and China
increasingly has become a major investor.
Sherlock : It is so difficult to want to believe what this guy is saying. He speaks with double tongues. Inconsistent in his deeds, from what he may say. When Iran bombed Israel, why did you cheer and glorify? Is that not provocation?
When Hamas attacked Israel on October, and Israel countered the attack against Hamas, you condemned Israel. Is that not provocation? By the way, what has it got to do with Malaysia? The only common factor is Islam, being the common religion. This choice, by itself is already a provocation against the others.
Why couldn't you spend these efforts for the betterment of your own citizens who are in need of those resources that you so blatantly dispensed with such generosity.
RedWolf4463 : Everyone can see through smooth talk that comes out hollow the moment one opens his mouth. Here is one.
How can your policy be even balanced when you are constantly pro Hamas, pro Palestinian and anti Israel?
How can your policies be balanced when you practise apartheid locally and favour and protect Malays and Muslims over the rest of Malaysians.
Learn from Singapore who are proactive at managing equality and race relations.
Learn from Thailand who keep their mouth shut. Learn from Indonesia whose pancasila is the bedrock of nation building compared to our Rukun Negara which seems to be a forgotten piece of document.
OCT : Anwar must be joking when he said that Malaysia does not want to adopt any provocative actions against any country when he cannot even resolve the many provocative actions in Malaysia by his own party members.
There is no need to teach other countries about peace and harmony when in Malaysia there are daily 2R issues provoked by the majority race and religion. Anwar strong support for Hamas and no condemnation of Hamas sudden attack on Isreal were already a provocative statement to those countries that support Isreal. Anwar's statements are not sincere by its deeds.
He says one position but acts in the opposite or none at all. Anwar has let the Rakyat down frequently and lately with his inability to act decisively and firmly
Commenting has been disabled for this story : To the whites he portray himself as a modern liberal malay
To the Melayus he portray himself as a race and Islam defender
To the NMs he does his routine about anak cina anak India
He claims to act tough on corruption.
But gives perks to the biggest kleptocrats the country ever seen.
Anwar is a chameleon.
Be changes colors based on his surroundings.
Someone like that can NEVER lead
A true leader must have Consistency.
That is why it is pointless to pin any hope on Anwar. Or to wait for him to carry out reforms.
His character is not suitable for leadership.
He is a marketer, a PR man, a car salesman.
He simply lacks the fundamental ingredients, the basic building blocks, of true leadership.
