Rudyard Kipling"
“When you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur"
“We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”
“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.” “Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .” “The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Anwar reaches out to Hamas leader, slams ‘coward and insolent’ Israel
Friday, April 12, 2024
Malaysiakini : Anwar Ibrahim
launched a fresh salvo against Israel following the airstrike which
killed Hamas leader Sheikh Ismail Hanniyeh’s three sons and two
grandchildren on the first day of Aidilfitri.
In a statement this
evening, the prime minister said he contacted Ismail this afternoon to
express his condolences and reiterate Malaysia’s undivided support for
the Hamas leader’s family and the people of Palestine. “The loss of innocent lives, especially children, under tragic circumstances is difficult to accept,” he added.
Anwar said Malaysia condemns and censures the “insolent Zionist Israel regime for perpetrating genocide on Palestinians”. “This
disgusting attack proves that the Zionist regime is not interested in a
ceasefire as demanded by the UN Security Council and will not adhere to
international laws.
“This brazen attack wipes out any hope
towards a peaceful solution based on humanitarian principles and human
rights will continue to be trampled upon,” he added. Anwar said
Malaysia reiterates its call for the international community to take
stern action and hold Israel to task over this cruel act.
He added
that the international community must work towards bringing peace to
Palestinians, who have been suffering for the past 75 years. According to Al Jazeera TV, Haniyeh’s sons - Hazem, Amir, and Mohammad - were killed when the car they were driving in was bombed in Gaza’s Al-Shati camp. Hamas media reported that the attack also killed two of Haniyeh’s grandchildren and injured a third.
Raja Chulan : Our PMX and country should not take sides on this war between Hamas and Israel. Both parties have their own narratives and justifications in starting and continuing this war. In war there are bound to be casualties.
People on both sides will die and be injured. More than 30,000 Palestinians have so far perished since the October 2023. Hamas should have expected this or the world, including Malaysia and our PMX should have had reminded Hamas and the Maeel brother of this consequences if he started the war with the IDF.
Now it is a little too late. Maeel had sacrificed more than 30,000 Palestinians due to his own idiotic actions in October 2023. But Maeel is sitting comfortably, far away, in Qatar enjoying a luxurious lifestyle with a couple of more wives and travelling around in private jets. Palestinians must wake up and choose the right path and the correct leaders to lead them in this world.
MA : Hypocrisy at the highest level. Turned deaf towards the racial drama happening in his country where he seemly heads but so fast and vocal to scream something happening outside our shores. Good for nothing!
BlackMacaw3431 : Congratulations Anwar. With this statement you have won 80% of the Malay votes. Now you don't need the NM votes like me and my family even though we support you since the Reformasi. Goodbye PKR and DAP.
PKC : Since you are so concerned about the situation in Gaza more than in your own country, why don't you move there and be their pm? While you are at it, please take your equally incompetent hm and unity minister along too
Vijay47 : You could have been even a passable leader, Anwar Ibrahim, or so you had us believe. But ultimately, you have proven yourself a travesty of what a prime minister should be. By whatever standard you are measured, whatever angle you are looked upon, you will remain a failure lost in the delusion of being respected by the world.
Malaysia has been undergoing a surge in dangerous challenges from racial and religious extremists but you were nowhere to be seen. You were concerned only with the rice diet of your Cabinet or making seemingly impressive press conferences where fortuitously, the right questions were asked by pliant reporters.
That Bernama would sing your praises would hardly convince the world to stand up and cheer.
Things had reached such a depth, your negligence so gross, that the Agong himself had to step in to remedy the vast breach caused by lawlessness. Even then you did not deign to respond, snug as you were in the failed triumvirate of “Prime Minister-Home Minster-Inspector General of Police”.
However, such is the alacrity you display when it comes to matters pertaining to your Hamas that one actually wonders whether you are the premier of Malaysia or Gaza. Your shrill sermons sound like a broken record, hardly a best-seller at that, and nobody is buying your snake-oil; particularly bewildering is why you run to Turkey’s Recep Erdogan at the drop of a fez.
How galling for you that the on-going Peace Talks include Egypt and Qatar, and not for all his strident speeches, Anwar Ibrahim.
Israel the cowards? Did it never occur to you that when Hamas attacks hiding amidst women and children and the aged, the unfortunate collateral damage will be these very women and children and the aged?
Genocide, you say? If Israel had chosen that road, your Hamas and Gaza would have been a black blob on the map within hours.
As Destiny has decided, Anwar Ibrahim, you now trudge far behind Lee Hesien Loong and Jokowi, with perhaps Idi Amin by your side.
