No Atheists
In A Foxhole

Rudyard Kipling

" “When you're left wounded on
Afganistan's plains and

the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle

and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur

" “We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”

“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.”
“Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace,
for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .”
“The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.

“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died.
Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

Anwar needs to put inclusivity into practice By P Gunasegaram
Tuesday, April 16, 2024

Malaysiakini : COMMENT | It’s heartening to note that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has not abandoned his promise of inclusivity made at many ceramahs and forums across the country during election campaigns and other focal points over the last 25 years since the formation of PKR.

He repeated them on Sunday at an event attended largely by Indian Malaysians, where Anwar emphasised that he would be inclusive and would not compromise on making Malaysia a country for all Malaysians regardless of race, creed or religion.

“The country must not continue bickering over petty issues, sowing the seeds of discord and hatred among races in Malaysia.

Read the whole article in full here.....

TheSidth : PMX is doing taqiya , simply lying ! He found billions for kedah kelantan trengganu during state elections ! He gave 1billion for bumi entrepreneurs! So why 0 for NM B40 and M40? What is the allocation for NM Students for matriculation?

PMX says he can give more for gaza so why 0 for NM ? next election let UG get trashed...we all saw how PH collapsed before After all UG = PN will PMX do anything for NM students and NMB40 AND M40?? dont simply dance like mgr or quote someone and dream we will vote UG !

Proarte : Anwar was weaned on the UMNO “Ketuanan Melayu dan Islam” political modus operandi. He still operates on this strategy despite all the schmaltzy talk about “ Reformasi “, “ Zero tolerance for corruption “, “compassion", “respect”.

Has the appointment of Zahid Hamidi, the saving of UMNO from de-registration due Hamidi illegally disallowing his presidency to be challenged, the jailing of 2 non-Malay social media users for 6 months, whilst the agent provocateurs and bombers causing racial and religious divide in Malaysia have not been apprehended and given stiff jail sentences shown that Madani has all the qualities it claims for itself? Tellingly, none of the “pillars” of Madani stand for “justice“ or “integrity’’.

One would have thought that a reform minded administration would have these as core values but they have been excluded, which explains the frustration of the public who put Madani in power with great expectations. There is a palpable sense of "rigor mortis" in the administration.

The UMNO President and its Youth Leader are an albatross round Madani’s neck and are a stumbling block to reform, stability, unity and progressive society. We have had enough of meaningless claptrap and a self-aggrandising leadership. Malaysians want concrete action.

Kilimanjaro : With UMNO and BN out of the way, DAP should be able to breeze through in KKB but my gut feeling is that the DAP/PH will lose this seat. The strong factors working against PH may yet turn the tables.

The Chinese are not too happy with the rant against KK and the Indians have largely seen the "true" Anwar. His theatrics may not work anymore with the NM.

Justice : Sweet talk again but still had not delivered the long and every election promises of reforms, anti-corruption, equality, inclusivity.  But pandering more and more to the demands of racists and religious extremists in UMNO and PN including the violent Hamas.

More interested on issues in far away Gaza than solving issues eg cost of living, vigilantes threatening Malaysians right at home and the poverty and lack of much needed roads and basic services in rural areas of eg Sarawak, Sabah which regions in fact contributed to more than 50% of our national income from their oil and gas resources.
