Rudyard Kipling"
“When you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur"
“We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”
“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.” “Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .” “The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Umno Youth calls for detailed review of vernacular education system
Sunday, March 10, 2024
RACIST FAT Slob of a Youth Leader
Malaysiakini : With rising polarisation in the country, Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad
Akmal Saleh called for the government to conduct a detailed evaluation
of the vernacular education system.
As such, Akmal called on the
government to relook into the vernacular schools’ education ecosystem by
inculcating nationalistic aspects, while strengthening its students'
command of the Malay language.
“At the same time, we urge the
government to improve the national education system and come up with
measures to attract students from all races.
“The government
should also consider interim measures such as medium and long-term road
map towards an integrated education model, which is based on common
values and sense of belonging among the multiracial nation, without
setting aside the rights of races in Malaysia to preserve the heritage
of their respective mother tongues,” he said in a statement today.
MS : The most corrupt party in Malaysia, the same one whose leader made it known worldwide as the greatest kleptocracy in modern times wants to inculcate "nationalistic aspects" into vernacular schools. What is that? Teach the young how to steal and betray trust?
Vijay47 : To my own surprise, Muhamad Akmal Saleh – sorry, I still cannot bring myself to address you and similar so-called scholars with the title of “Doctor” - I find that I am in total agreement with your proposal that vernacular schools be reviewed, especially since you colour your idea with such noble objectives as to be “based on common values and sense of belonging among the multiracial nation, without setting aside the rights of races in Malaysia”.
Phew! Try as I might, I don’t think I would ever be able to express my thoughts with the eloquence you display. Perhaps because, by the Grace of God, I never went to a Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan; my education was pursued in truly beneficial, and, surprise! surprise! institutions like St. Michael’s, Alor Star, and St. John’s, Kuala Lumpur.
Your sudden attempt towards reason and fairness must be the shellacking you received from your recent incredible statements including the demand for Tiong King Sing’s head – not to make bak khut teh, I hope – new villages as heritage sites, punnyman Tony Pua, all this to everyone’s considerable merriment.
Review vernacular schools? Sure, why not! Let’s go the whole nine! Let us study why Tamil schools, wholeheartedly ignored, often perform brilliantly in international competitions that generally require the application of intelligence. Or why increasing number of Malays forsake the hive of national schools and flee to Chinese schools.
And, like you wonder, why national schools do not “attract children of all races”.
Which reminds me, is it true that a vocal UMNO leader sends his daughter to a Chinese school? What happened to the goose and gander sambal?
Let us next surge on to university education. Make public the yardstick employed for intake-selection and into the various disciplines like medicine, law, engineering, and such dreary learnings.
Oops! I almost forgot – how about the scholarship grants? Again, what is the basis used? And also for specialized studies abroad. Let us have a real national annual celebration and announce the fortunate candidates.
And in thy speed, Muhamad Akmal Saleh, forget not to touch the Sekolah Tahfiz.
It would be grossly unfair to exclude them from the review. Leaving aside fires, food poisoning, and activities frowned upon, we should study what syllabi these schools inflict upon their poor students. When they stampede out, would their contributions be productive to Malaysia or to Hamas?
Yes, Muhamad Akmal Saleh, let us have that review of the Education System.
Just a Malaysian : There are many reasons for racial polarisation, but as always, everything the Chinese do is wrong. Vernacular education is probably the last thing the Chinese community has some degree of control.
Even that makes the rightist uncomfortable. They fail to mention the many Mara malay only colleges, universities and the many Islamic schools that cater to one race. But that is ok if it is to promote rabid malay nationalism or islamist. A Chinese vernacular school that opens its doors to all races and has increasing malay participation is pointed out as a root cause of polarisation.
Malay politics fighting against each other again are using a Chinese punching bag. When will malay politics start to fight in positive sphere finding weaknesses in malay community and address them objectively. And there are many staring in their face. Such 70s game are self defeating and has resulted in a rich country like Malaysia broke and weak. And yet malay politicians refused to wake up.
