The perennial problems of conservative Muslims criticising canteens which remain open for business and “non-Muslims failing to respect the right of Muslims to fast” will crop up without fail. Schools are the usual target. Are factory and workplace canteens free of the same scrutiny?

Outside of school, we have religious officers from the state religious authorities, patrolling the streets, checking the popular restaurants and fast-food outlets, to catch Muslims who are eating.

Man on the Silver Mountain : What a fallacious teaching on fasting. Fasting well is when you resist and overcome temptations, not the other way round. We would expect the parents to remind their children that there will be temptations as they are undergoing their fast, which should not discourage them, but to make them even more determine to complete it. Parents should not use the occasion to poison their children’s mind by saying non-Muslims should not eat in front of them and that by doing so, they are enemies of Islam as they are disrespecting it.
