Rudyard Kipling"
“When you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur"
“We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”
“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.” “Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .” “The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Najib's reduced sentence: 'Harapan will pay the price in GE16'
Tuesday, February 06, 2024
Malaysiakini : The Pardons Board's decision to halve former prime minister Najib
Abdul Razak's jail sentence will take a toll on Pakatan Harapan in the
next general election, said an independent analyst. P Gunasegaram,
who authored a best-seller book on the 1MDB scandal, believed that the
issue would see Harapan's support dwindle and eventually benefit its
rival PAS.
"I certainly think there will be a price to be paid in the 16th general election. "I
think there is a very palpable quietness on the Harapan front, except
for those who are not in government making some statements about this,
like Ramkarpal (Singh) and Tony Pua, for instance, from DAP and Hassan
(Abdul Karim) from PKR.
"But the thing is, I mean, who will be the beneficiary at the end of the day from all of this? “I
think if given the status quo currently, it will be PAS, of course, who
has seen a huge swing towards them in the 2022 election," he said.
Gunasegaram was speaking in a radio interview with BFM presenter, Wong Shou Ning yesterday morning. The
podcast, which also featured criminal lawyer Goh Cia Yee, discussed the
decision to reduce Najib's 12-year jail term to half and its
ramifications for the country.
Adding further, the author of "1MDB The Scandal That Brought Down A
Government", also trained his gun at Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and
his anti-corruption campaign.
Anwar fell for a fallacy
According
to Gunasegaram, Anwar had sacrificed his aspirations to a fallacy that
Najib could help his government get more Malay support. "I mean,
certainly as far as corruption is concerned, it seems to be all gone.
So, unless Anwar redeems himself in the next four years, he's got four
years to do it.
"But how do you redeem yourself from a situation like this if you carry the conspiracy theory right through? "The
overall plan seems to be to get Najib back into the political arena...
to me, the fallacious belief that he commands a lot of Malay support.
"And
if you go back and you look at the numbers, it shows that he does not,"
he said, pointing to Umno's defeat in 2018 when Najib was its
president.
‘Review rules on pardon’
Meanwhile,
Goh told the station that Anwar's government can show its commitment to
fighting corruption by taking steps towards preventing Najib from
getting a full pardon in the future.
This, the lawyer added, could
be done by pushing legislation that will limit the power of the Yang
di-Pertuan Agong to give pardons. "So, if Anwar believes that in the future, there may be instances where a pardon may be granted for Najib.
“A
pardon may be granted for, let's say, other convictions of these
politicians, what his government can do is to push a legislation forward
on a federal level to amend or limit whatever powers that is causing
this to happen," Goh said.
MariKitaUbah : Anwar only talk big, "No Corruptions, No abuse of Power, Reforms, ... etc ...WE want to ask Anwar about what he preached during GE campaigns, he said "he will never work with those who are Corrupted, Kleptocrats, those who Abused Power" what's happening NOW ???????????
YOU are not a man of what YOU preached !!!!! YOU are making the downfall of PH yourself and this will caused you dearly in GE 16 !!!!!! WE will not be voting come GE16, after all this country is already a GONE CASE, CAN'T SAVE ANYMORE, SOM LET IT BE !!!!!!!!
So blardy fed-up. Do what you like ANWAR, WE don't care anymore !!!! WE wee you as a BIG LIAR, CAKAP TIDAK SERUPA BIKIN. What the heck, giving discount to a man who stole billions ???? You are killing yourself & PH. I don't mind going to Jail for one year in exchange for 50 mil !!! What a dumb decision !!! Fed up ... Fed up ... Fed up ....
Vijay47 : 'Harapan will pay the price in GE16'? Wrong! Harapan will pay the price in any forthcoming elections, be they for state or Parliament seats; the voters are dying to show their disgust not only to Harapan but especially to DAP and their master, Anwar Ibrahim.
I will never again vote for Harapan, PKR, or DAP. Heck, I might never again vote! And if Muslim fanatics come into power, who the bloody hell cares. Things can’t get any worse. I have had enough of betrayal at every count by that shameless hypocrite.
I am sick and tired of that old Madani mantra “We need Anwar Ibrahim. If not, Hadi Awang will govern”. So bloody what?
