Malaysiakini : Arson over political differences unacceptable - PAS leader.
A PAS leader has condemned the alleged arson on Perak DAP leader Ngeh Koo Ham's house this morning as being an unacceptable act.
PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari expressed sympathy over the incident believed to be a Molotov cocktail attack.
"No
matter what differences happen in politics, burning and sabotaging a
person's property, especially when there are lives at risk, is
unacceptable.
"We leave it to the authorities to investigate according to existing laws.
OrangeJaguar9341 : In a Trumpian move, these politicians from PAS and Bersatu instigated and provoked gullible rakyat, and now want to wash their hands of this attack?
YellowImpala3311 : But you see. This is the result of what happens when you incite hatred. Words lead to actions. Actions lead to destruction and ultimately death. If you were all mindful of your words in the first place, things wouldn’t reach this point.
NoobMaster69 : Such a good statement. Seem to be prepare quite sometime ago with careful consideration and professionally written.
Lone_star : At least a good response from YB Pasir Mas. Less inflammatory statements might bring down the temperature. No one gains from a fire, be it anywhere.
NoobMaster69 : Of course they are happy now so can made such statement. Imagine today it's his house and DAP made such statement. Do you think they will let it rest?
GreenDove5626 : Hatred breeds violence. Who are constantly promoting hatred on daily basis?
karma : Ngeh did not insult anyone and politicians should not mislead those uneducated ones. He just asked for inclusiveness in a religious committee formed to discuss about a particular religion. A Muslim can also suggest Muslims should be included in a non-Muslim committee to ensure balanced views are shared. He had since apologize for making a harmless suggestion. Politicians should move on! Not to keep harping on it until something bad like this happened.
GreenDeer3623 : You guys are the one that keep adding oil to the flame, let's not forget that part.
BrownCheetah9736 : Those inciting racial discord now trying to play the peacemakers?
KickOutPN_PAS : By now WE Voters should know how dangerous is to elect a PN government in when PAS is so racist and religious extremist.
Vijay47 : For the moment, there is only a belief that arson was behind the cause of the fire; the intention to burn someone’s house or property could have arisen from any of various reasons – personal disagreements with someone, family business deals gone sour, a breakdown in relationships or even Ah Longs on a rampage.
True, so many reasons.
However, going by current developments in the country, the natural conclusion is that political discord is what prompted the criminal action of setting Ngeh Koo Ham’s house and cars on fire. If indeed this is so, not only has politics Malaysia reached the Rubicon, we have crossed it.
From words, disagreements of opinion have turned into actual violence. If indeed this is so, the future is absolutely dark and frightening.
If the idea is to punish Ngeh, what crime has he committed? Obviously, the recent threats and stance by Muslim fanatics immediately comes to mind. What did he do?
He had the apparent audacity to suggest, politely, “the inclusion of non-Muslim experts to incorporate their views concerning relevant constitutional provisions”, the key words being “constitutional provisions”. It must also be noted that proposals made were related to the Constitution, they had nothing to do with the exploits of Anwar Ibrahim’s favourite government agency, Jakim.
Is a Member of Parliament no longer entitled or allowed to comment on matters touching on our Constitution?
Who is responsible for the fire at Ngeh’s house?
I will put the blame squarely on the prime minister. Obvious to everyone, combustible material was being stacked up, inflammable liquids were being readied, the flintstone was being prepared.
Alarm bells and red flags were going off deafeningly. Yet Anwar Ibrahim remained silent and inactive when he should have firmly spoken out against the worsening situation created by extremist out to gain political advantage.
Unpopular as it might have been amongst religious zealots, the prime minister should have stood by Ngeh and bluntly pointed out that the MP had to right and duty on issues that could possibly relate to the Constitution.
Forget Hamas, sir, sometimes you should not fear spooking the Malays. After all, you ARE the prime minister.
How sad that Anwar Ibrahim’s valour is restricted towards young university students only.
