Rudyard Kipling"
āWhen you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldierā
General Douglas MacArthur"
āWe are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.ā
āIt is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.ā āOld soldiers never die; they just fade away.
āThe soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.ā
āMay God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .ā āThe object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
āNobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
āIt is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
After one-year wait to see PM, Beng Hock's family meet with PMO officer By Wong Kang Jia
Thursday, December 14, 2023
Malaysiakini : Frustrated after a year-long wait to see Prime Minister Anwar
Ibrahim, the Teoh Beng Hock Association for Democratic Advancement and
the late political aideās sister Teoh Lee Lan met with an officer from
the Prime Ministerās Office today.
The officer,
identified only as Ariff, met group chairperson Ng Yap Hwa and Lee Lan
at around 3.20pm, holding a meeting that lasted approximately 25
minutes.
After they met the officer, Ng (above)
held a press conference outside the Prime Ministerās Office, stating
that they had conveyed their demands to Ariff, who promised to relay the
message to Anwarās political secretary, Chan Ming Kai.
He said that they tried to make an appointment to meet Anwar a year ago but nothing had materialised.
āPakatan Harapan is the one who championed the cause of Beng
Hock since (he died) 14 years ago. They should make some changes when
they are in power today,ā said Ng, who also cited Anwarās āblack eye
incidentā from years ago to emphasise that thewrongdoers must be held accountable and punished.
He
pointed out that Anwar was assaulted during detention, resulting in him
appearing in court with a black eye, shocking the nation. The
perpetrator, then inspector-general of police Rahim Noor, was eventually
punished. He lamented that to this day, no MACC officers have been held accountable for Beng Hockās death while in their custody.
Beng
Hock was found dead on July 16, 2009, on the fifth-floor service
corridor of Plaza Masalam in Shah Alam after being questioned overnight
on the 14th floor of the Selangor MACC headquarters. At the time of his death, he was a political aide to Selangor
state executive councillor and incumbent DAP Seri Kembangan
assemblyperson Ean Yong Hian Wah.
In 2011, a Royal
Commission of Inquiry determined that Beng Hock was driven to commit
suicide following aggressive questioning by the MACC. In
2014, the Court of Appeal unanimously ruled that his death was caused
by the act of āa person or persons unknownā, including the MACC officers
who questioned him overnight before he was found dead.
āEven Najib met with usā
Ng
called for Anwar to promptly reopen the investigation to ensure that
those responsible for Beng Hockās death are brought to justice.
Subsequently, Lee Lan (above) stated that before Anwar became the prime minister, he had attended Beng Hockās funeral along with various Harapan leaders. āHe
mourned and shed tears in front of the funeral hall, all because an
innocent person lost his life in connection with the MACC.ā
She
questioned why despite former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak
arranging a meeting with the Teoh family, Anwar appeared reluctant to do
so. āEven Najib as PM met with the Teoh family, so
we just donāt understand why a simple arrangement (for a meeting) has to
wait for a year.āShe also urged the public not to
forget the injustice suffered by Beng Hock and to seize every
opportunity to question Anwar in seeking justice for the deceased.
Maya : That is the truth. The politicians will play accordingly! It is a well known fact and this case, and many others, have proved without reasonable doubt the real truth about Madani.
Suddenly, everything that everyone thought will come to a close, never transpired.
PMX has very many "important" things that he has been looking into, including a personal conversion ceremony, etc. He has completely forgotten his past and how he was trusted into power to lead. Alas, it is best to stay away from controversies and let his close buddies like the HM or just an ordinary officer to handle them.
It is no more just being disappointed, but it is disgust and the feeling of being played out seems to creep in. Even DAP who were championing this cannot help to get them to meet the PM. Worst still we are arguing about not having NM PM, no Tamil Minister in the cabinet ........! This is the truth, if PH fails there is little hope of any other change, except one.
DonGetMeWrong : Admired Lee Lan for her relentless pursued of justice for her beloved brother after 14 years and still not giving up. It is a travesty of justice for a young man whose life has been cut short by over zealous MACC officer to force him to his death.
Injustice when these officers has been implicated but no action taken. Not only that these officers has been promoted too. Ketuanan melayu rules. Birds of same feather flocked together. When will justice be served?
Proof of pudding always in the eating : PMX has turned out to be a spineless disaster now playing hide and seek with TBH family. He was only assaulted in 1998. 2023 he is still alive while TBH lost his life and his family lost a son and brother. This is reformasi. Kick him out GE2028.
On the Other Hand : The charlatan shed crocodile tears then. Today he could not be bothered about either his constituents in Tambun, Port Dickson, or his next stepping stone.
You were merely a pedestal for him to step on to further his personal agenda, and once he made use of you, he abandoned you.
Today, he loves Hamas more than even the Arabs do, because they serve his purpose, no matter that more Palestinians will die as a result of bing hoodwinked by Hamas. What seems to matter more to him, is just him, and only himself.
