Rudyard Kipling"
“When you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur"
“We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”
“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.” “Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .” “The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Free tuition: Sabah rep tells govt to help locals first, then aid Palestinians
Thursday, November 16, 2023
Malaysiakini : A Sabah lawmaker has urged the government to prioritise locals for
free education, instead of giving the privilege to Palestinians. Moyog
assemblyperson Darell Leiking said this is because thousands of
university students, including those from Sabah, still need help with
tuition fees and other education-related matters.
"If the Madani
government thinks this is the way to help Palestinians, maybe it should
do exactly the same to Sabahans who have to enter universities in the
peninsula as places in UMS (Universiti Malaysia Sabah) are not enough
for locals due to the shared entry system for all Malaysians.
"Sabahans
have to skimp and save money to go to the many universities in
Peninsular Malaysia (both public and private universities)," the Warisan
deputy president wrote in a statement on Facebook today. Leiking (above) was responding to Higher Education Minister
Mohamed Khaled Nordin’s move to waive tuition fees for more than 600
Palestinian students studying at public universities in Malaysia for one
year with immediate effect.
Khaled added that his ministry will also hold talks with private
universities to waive the fees for more than 200 Palestinian students
studying at these institutions for the same duration.
Elaborating,
Leiking said Sabahans had approached him countless times seeking
assistance to lessen their burden, as they are unable to secure
scholarships or spots in UMS. "Any government should prioritise
its own citizens first and Sabahans (if not all Malaysians) should be
prioritised, no matter what," he stressed.
Leiking also urged the
Sabah government to utilise the money used for state
administration-related billboards on less fortunate locals who want to
further their education instead. "In short, if the Madani
government wants to help foreigners like the Palestinians, why not do so
only after helping Malaysians/Sabahans first?
"If you dislike my opinions, don't diss me as I have this opinion that my fellow Sabahans come first."
Thickskin : What is puzzling is - are ALL Palestinian students studying in our universities poor? Looking at the good roads, good street lighting in photos of Gaza, we cannot help wondering why they need help from a poor country like Malaysia.
If the poor Palestinians come to Malaysia to study, who sponsored their airfares, accommodations, food and tuition fees? It seems all along they have been able to pay their tuition fees, but suddenly our Madani government thought it is a good idea to pay their tuition fees WITHOUT the Palestinians begging for it.
There is something wrong when a government neglects its own students at the expense of foreign students. Don't forget, our students will help the country to prosper after they graduated, unlike foreign students who just go home!
OrangeKucing5562 : Correctly lectured this stupid UG govt! You buggers are using our Malaysian hard earned money to give to outside people ad ask malaysians to tighten their belt and be hungry. What fccuk up idiotic government is Anwar leading??\
Fully support the lecture given by Leiking to this brainless Madani govt ministers. If you bloody ministers want to help outside people, do crowd funding amongst yourselves.
Sherlock : Menyusu bero# di hutan, anak sendiri kelaparan., Darrel Leiking, salute to you for your bravery. The Higher Education Minister and the other Ministers , their family members are fully paid for their their education expenses, so , they do not feel what the ordinary families are facing to provide for education. Use your personal money if you really feel passionate about Palestine, our tax money is for our own needy people.
PurpleGopher1703 : PMX is the typical Gaya Ada, Mutu Takde type of people.
Have you seen the type of father who goes out to kopitiam everyday chatting away with his friends about politics, belanja minum, belanja makan, belanja rokok...
whilst the wife goes off to work 2nd job and all the kids running around hungry and messy? Inilah our bapak
So many life and death issues at home and all he sibuk with is his ego trip abroad playing hero. Banjir, Rompak, Rempit, Perpecahan kaum, Songlap, Inflasi...
the list goes on.
Remember how he told off the Indian student in Malaysia when she asked about fair access to education and contrast that with what he said in the US about the need for colour blind policies to help the poor (sic)
Anwar faces brickbats for ‘bullying’ student in a Q&A session
Me : The best part is that the Palis cannot speak Bahasa Malaysia!!!!
