Selepas lapan bulan sejak penubuhan Kerajaan Perpaduan antara Pakatan Harapan (PH) dan Barisan Nasional (BN), terdapat keperluan untuk memberikan penjelasan yang lebih mendalam mengenai kerjasama ini kepada rakyat. ADUN Lenggeng, Mohd Asna Amin, berpendapat bahawa kegagalan untuk memberi penjelasan yang memadai mengenai kerjasama ini telah menyebabkan persepsi bahawa ini adalah satu bentuk pengkhianatan selepas Pilihan Raya Umum (PRU15).
Mohd Asna menyatakan bahawa pengundi sebenarnya tidak menolak gabungan PH-BN, tetapi ramai daripada mereka tidak memahami sepenuhnya konsep dan kepentingan kerjasama ini. Beliau percaya bahawa penjelasan yang diberikan oleh pemimpin seperti Presiden UMNO, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, tidak mencukupi untuk sampai ke peringkat akar umbi dalam tempoh dua minggu berkempen. Beliau menganggap bahawa untuk mengatasi ini, BN perlu mewujudkan kaedah baharu seperti peranan yang pernah dimainkan oleh Jabatan Hal Ehwal Khas (JASA) dalam menyebarkan maklumat dan doktrin kepada rakyat. Menurutnya, langkah ini dapat membantu menyampaikan perjuangan dan kepentingan kerjasama ini dengan lebih berkesan kepada rakyat.
Mohd Asna juga mencadangkan agar UMNO dan BN memberikan penjelasan yang lebih komprehensif mengenai tujuan dan manfaat kerjasama ini menjelang Pilihan Raya Umum ke-16 (PRU16). Beliau percaya bahawa jika penjelasan ini dapat disampaikan dengan jelas dan berkesan, kerjasama ini akan mendapat sokongan yang lebih besar dari rakyat, dan ini boleh membantu UMNO dan BN untuk meraih kemenangan besar dalam PRU16.
Dalam Pilihan Raya Negeri (PRN) Negeri Sembilan, gabungan Kerajaan Perpaduan PH-BN berjaya memenangi 31 kerusi dan terus mentadbir negeri, manakala Perikatan Nasional (PN) memenangi lima kerusi.
