Rudyard Kipling"
āWhen you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldierā
General Douglas MacArthur"
āWe are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.ā
āIt is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.ā āOld soldiers never die; they just fade away.
āThe soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.ā
āMay God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .ā āThe object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
āNobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
āIt is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Malaysiakini : Zaid Ibrahim has urged Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to free former premier Najib Abdul Razak "for the sake of the peopleā. This,
according to the former minister, was because in the scheme of things
RM42 million (the value of corruption Najib is imprisoned for) is "small
changeā.
"Dear PM, you have to change your mind about Najib - for the sake of the people. Let him free. "This
coming (state) election(s), (the Malaysia) Madani (government) needs to
win; you need to be prime minister for a few more years," Zaid (above, left) tweeted this morning.
He said Umno is weak (to face the polls), and only Najib can help the party win. "Sure, he was found guilty, but in the scheme of things RM42 million is a small change. "After
all, from now on, corruption is a thing of the past under your strict
and clean leadership. No one can say you are soft on corruption by
pardoning him (Najib)," he added.
Dear PM you have to change your mind about Najib- for the sake of the people. Let him free. This coming election; Madani needs to win; you need to be PM for a few more years. Umno is weak; only Najib will help you win. Sure he was found guilty; but in the scheme of things 42 milā¦
Zaid later told Malaysiakini that he was not supporting
Najib, but was merely stating that the RM42 million involved in the
latterās case was āsmallerā compared to other corruption cases which run
into hundreds of millions or even billions of ringgit. Najib is
serving a 12-year jail sentence following a corruption conviction in
relation to RM42 million of funds from SRC International. He was also
slapped with an RM210 million fine.
SRC International was a former
subsidiary of 1MDB that later became fully owned by the Minister of
Finance Incorporated (MOF Inc). MOF Inc also fully owned 1MDB.
GOD Bless Malaysia : Zaid you're disgusting piece.
A small change, RM42m? JIBBY is a crook, criminal and a corrupt one at that. He did the crime, he must do the time. Let this fellow rot in Kajang Resort for a long long time. And you Zaid, pls shut the 'f' up.
Kajang pigeon :
Have you ever seen a toad beg ? Well this is an example of one of the slimiest sleaziest fat toads who is pleading for najibs freedom. He showed the country what a pathetic lawyer he was when najib hired him and he did what most šø do on a daily basis, he sat in a corner and croaked .
Now he has the audacity to say 42 million is peanuts and najib needs to be let free like save the worldā¦ how dumb can one person be ? It is stupidity like this that makes remind us all that Malaysia is still a backward corrupt nation, where a crook that steals billions is martyred while someone who stole a can of sardine to feed his family is punished with a more harsh sentence.
then we have numbskulls like this frog who canvasses for the Privileged crooked thievesā¦ soon he is gonna say rosmah should be let free as well, after all she saved money when she was young to by all those birkins, tiaras and pink diamonds ā¦ she is actually a financial genius like warren buffet trapped in a fat kampong ladyās body ā¦
Vijay47 : To put it straight from the shoulder, Zaid Ibrahim, you should be ashamed of yourself.
Are these the principles that you, a so-called lawyer, are guided by when carrying out your legal profession?
Any way we slice it, you seem to have discarded every semblance of morals and justice in suggesting that Najib Razak be freed by Anwar Ibrahim because the RM42 million in question is āsmall changeā. Yes, Zaid Ibrahim, you should be ashamed of yourself.
Well and truly ashamed.
Of course RM42 million is indeed small change. As a nation, we have progressed a long way, corruption and misappropriation has reached impressive heights where any politician worth his salt will not be seen delving into anything less than a couple of billion.
Are you suggesting that any illegality of RM42 million or smaller sums no longer constitutes a crime? Or that if it does, it applies only to cake-eating peasants?
You also advocate that abandonment of law and order is necessary political expedience, in this case, Anwar Ibrahimās survival as prime minister.
No comment on your change of tack, that you have now turned Anwar Ibrahimās ally, but pray tell me, learned counsel, where does one draw a line in such objectives? To begin with, is there even a line? Premiership above all else?
The third inference suggests insidiousness so cunning as to be a Brutus stab-in-the-back. You ask that Anwar Ibrahim āfree Najib Razakā. You imply that a verdict and sentence imposed by the Courts can be overturned by a politician to serve his own ends, offering fodder to all those claim that Najib Razak was not given a fair trial.
So perhaps you are not an ally after all.
All said and done, Zaid Ibrahim, you should be ashamed of yourself.
