Rudyard Kipling"
āWhen you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldierā
General Douglas MacArthur"
āWe are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.ā
āIt is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.ā āOld soldiers never die; they just fade away.
āThe soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.ā
āMay God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .ā āThe object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
āNobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
āIt is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
DAP MP lodges report against Sanusi over 'Kedah owns Penang' claim
Thursday, June 01, 2023
Malaysiakini : Jelutong MP RSN Rayer has lodged a police report against Kedah
Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor for the latterās insistence that
Penang belongs to Kedah.
The report was lodged at the Timur Laut police station in Georgetown, Penang, this morning. Rayer (above) was accompanied by Bagan MP Lim Guan Eng, Bukit Bendera MP Syerleena Abdul Rashid, and other DAP leaders. In
the report, Rayer said it was āextremeā of Sanusi to question the
sovereignty of Penang, which was established and recognised as a
sovereign state under the Federal Constitution.
By making such
claims, Sanusi was not only questioning the validity of the Constitution
but also the power of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in appointing the
Penang governor, the DAP lawmaker added. āAs a menteri besar, he (Sanusi) should be more responsible and
garner feedback and advice from legal experts instead of blindly making
claims that can cause anxiety and anger to the people of Penang, and
disrupt public order.
āI am making this report to not only defend
the rights and interests of Penang folk but also to uphold the validity
of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Federal Constitution,ā he said. This is the second time Rayer has lodged a report against Sanusi over the āKedah owns Penangā claim. The first report was made in February when Sanusi first made the allegation.
Elaborating, Rayer claimed that Sanusiās āirresponsible, extremeā remark can possibly cause chaos and riots among Penang folk.
Proarte : The Malaysian Chinese built up the economy of a tiny island and that of a slither of land on the mainland that forms the Penang State to become the economic power house that it is today. It is second only to Selangor in terms of economic productivity. The Kedah MB is simply envious of this fact.
The people of Penang of all races will never allow their land to be hijacked by pirates like Sanusi. Kedah is a potentially rich state but it is the inability of its leaders to administer their state well which has resulted in the economy of a large and potentially rich state like Kedah falling way behind that of Penang.
In fact, Penang should offer to administer Kedah for a 10 year period and then return the State back its people to choose leaders who can emulate the Penang mode of administration. The Penang experience would greatly improve the lives of the majority in Kedah who are Malays.
The MB Sanusi if he was educated and intelligent would realise that Kedah was owned by the King of Siam until 1909.
The British through gunboat diplomacy in the Bangkok Treaty got Thailand to cede Kedah, Perlis, Kelantan and Terengganu to them. Therefore the idea of Kedah 'owning' Penang is pure fantasy.
We have a democracy and a Constitution where Sharia is not yet the supreme law of the land. Sanusi a PAS leader, by claiming that Kedah owns Penang, has made a seditious remark by repudiating the Malaysian Constitution.
If Sanusi is allowed to get away without consequences for his seditious remark, it would be a slow but steady path to anarchy in Malaysia, and the likely establishment of an Islamic State ala Afghanistan so beloved of PAS.
Malays like the 'idea' of an Islamic state but would most definitely reject the reality of one, in the mould of Afghanistan.
