7th Rangers: Mediation centre for Muslims, non-Muslim disputes mooted - It means Bullshit for the Non Muslims, look at the history of injustices inflicted on the Non Muslims
Fighting Seventh
The Fighting Rangers On War, Politics and Burning Issues
Rudyard Kipling"
āWhen you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldierā
General Douglas MacArthur"
āWe are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.ā
āIt is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.ā āOld soldiers never die; they just fade away.
āThe soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.ā
āMay God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .ā āThe object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
āNobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
āIt is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Mediation centre for Muslims, non-Muslim disputes mooted - It means Bullshit for the Non Muslims, look at the history of injustices inflicted on the Non Muslims
Malaysiakini : An out-of-court mediation centre needs to be established to resolve
disputes involving Muslims and non-Muslims, said Minister in the Prime
Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Mohd Na'im Mokhtar.
He
said the mediation process would be informal and requires a suitable
platform to be implemented to help the parties involved, apart from the
court context. "This is because it involves a dispute between a
Muslim and non-Muslim, namely a non-Muslim father and Muslim mother and
child, without prejudicing any party... apart from it involving two
different courts, namely civil and syariah.
"We do not want any
party to take this opportunity to cause conflict and unrest. We want to
create a society that is united and understanding," he said when met at a
ceremony to introduce a copy of the Quran published by Karya Bestari,
Karangkraf Book Group in conjunction with the 40th Kuala Lumpur
International Book Festival yesterday.
AyuhMy : What is there to mediate when the constitution clear cut- NO unilateral conversion..!
Do not try to continue to fool the nons with these tipu helah tactics. Be fair, truthful, honest and respectful as what all religion teaches.
LimePanther5220 : The law is there. The court has issued an order. If everyone respects the law and the court, why is there a need to mediate?
I am sure, in this particular case, if the court order had been in favour of the Muslim mother, there would never have been this proposal to set up the mediation centre.
This madani government is at least 6 months old and this idea was not mooted to handle the Indira Gandhi and Loh Siew Hong cases which have yet to be resolved. Why now?
If the mediation centre comes about, I wonāt be surprised most cases mediated will be skewed in one direction only.
It is a naughty attempt to rob the minority groups of court decisions which favour them. Is there any difference between this madani government and PN?
BOBBYO : If you cannot even respect the Constituition, where the rights of every one is laid down in black and white, how are you going to honour the arrangement agreed between the various parties involved in a dispute.
On many occassions even the Judges order is not even fulfilled by the legal authorities who have sworn to uphold the law.
We have to first set an agreement that we will abide by the laws written in the Constituition, before such an arrangement can be made.
No religion or authority have more power in this dialogue or agreement.
Vijay47 : I suppose at this juncture I should be gushing about what a brilliant, better mouse-trap idea this is to resolve the differences arising from race and religion, a refreshing change to convert our beloved, wonderful Malaysia Tanah Air into heaven on earth.
Sorry, but absolute skepticism seems to be dominating or even monopolizing my expectations.
An informal gathering of non-Muslims and Muslims to discuss and settle disputes that we might have? After rounds of meetings with generous servings of tea and ketupat (no more kueh lapis, please, its multi-coloured layers may be too confusing), would the Mediation Centre order Indira Gandhiās renegade husband to return her children?
Would a similar order be made in respect of Madam Loh Siew Hongās children?
Order? What Order? What power or authority would this new agency have? When the Constitution is mocked, when decrees of the Courts are disregarded, when an Inspector General of Police can boldly say that complying with the Federal Courtās order would be in conflict with his religious beliefs?
What force would a tea-sipping ketupat-munching mediation centre carry?
Alright, I may be too pessimistic, there might be good news at times ā Coldplay would be allowed to perform without green cold water raining on their concert.
Nevertheless, I have seen the movie. Numerous times. Believe me, folks, they donāt ride off happily into the sunset.
