COMMENT | While most people are jubilant that former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak lost his review at the Federal Court, many like-minded people were observing the escalation by the forces of the religious fascist in this country.

The allegations made by activist Arun Dorasamy against the Johor Islamic Religious Department are another example of how non-Muslims are slowly, inevitably having their rights eroded by the proxies of the deep Islamic state.

Hmmmmmmmm : To me, the main problem with any religion is that none of them can prove conclusively that there is a God ( in whatever name we may call Him/ Her). If there is indeed a God, we do not know which religion is the correct one.

What, if the religion we choose is the wrong one and yet we recruit many of our friends and relatives into it ? Aren't we actually harming their chances of going to Heaven? And we even make them go through all the rituals and sacrifices for something futile too.

While you may believe very strongly that your religion is the right one, not everybody may have as strong a conviction as you. So, wouldn't it be better to leave it to each person to follow ( or not follow) a religion based on their level of faith? That way, they are personally responsible for ending up in Heaven or Hell if these places do indeed exist.

That does not mean that you are not allowed to try to convince a person to join your faith based on the goodness of your religion but it should never be forced upon them. For me personally, I am relying on every religions' proclamation that God is merciful. So, even if I didn't believe in Him on Earth, He will still show mercy to me because I have not harmed anybody in this life.

XED : Would Muslims tolerate unilateral conversion of their children happening in other countries which have Muslim minorities? The non-Muslim minorities in other countries are at greater risk of suffering harsh treatment from the majority if such things happen in countries like Malaysia.

Today’s minority can become tomorrow’s majority. History has shown that majorities can shrink into minorities in various ways, including by invasion; economic weakening; and changing social and cultural conditions. A large part of the Malay/Muslim population feels threatened, both within and from outside Malaysia, leading to it being territorial and protective of what it sees as its backyard and taking extreme measures against “others”.

But even the majority can behave like a minority, especially when numbers matter less than weight. The blacks in South Africa, while being in a huge majority numerically, have been for a long time far behind the whites in terms of such indicators as power, wealth, influence, education, employment and benefits.

When the dialogue is framed in terms of “them versus us”, it becomes more difficult to build harmony. When will the people pay more attention to the increasingly serious problems of corruption; crime; nepotism; falling educational standards; incompetence; and the lack of civic mindedness in Malaysia?

All this in a more Islamic Malaysia? Muslims should ask why so many of their kind are risking their lives and giving up their assets by fleeing the abodes of peace, prosperity and justice for the decadent countries, especially of the West.

Me : You can actually donate to foreign organizations who proselytize to Muslim immigrants in Non Muslim countries. What is good for the goose is also good for the gander.
