Rudyard Kipling"
“When you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur"
“We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”
“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.” “Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .” “The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Malaysiakini : Maran MP Ismail Abd Muttalib has questioned the government’s
rationale for “recognising” citizens born after Malaysia’s independence
regardless of “skin colour”.
This was part of the Perikatan
Nasional lawmaker’s written parliamentary questions directed at Home
Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail in the last session. “Is it
true the government intends to grant recognition to citizens born after
independence without taking into account skin colour?
“If true, what is the rationale?” his question read.
In response, Saifuddin reminded that the granting of citizenship to
individuals born before or after independence is subject to the laws
laid out in the Third Schedule of the Federal Constitution, the
Citizenship Rules 1964 and other relevant enforcement provisions. He
added that the granting of citizenship to non-citizen individuals is
the “highest award” and the exclusive right of the federal government
which is not offered and given lightly.
“Every citizenship
application received is processed and examined accordingly based on the
conditions and laws that apply without distinction of ancestry or the
skin colour of the applicant,” Saifuddin said.
Communism in new villages?
In an earlier written parliamentary question dated Feb 15, 2023, Ismail (toppicture)
directed another bizarre question to the home minister on why new
villages were still being maintained and whether communism still exists
in those places. “Why do the majority of new villages, which were
initially formed to place groups involved in communism, still need to be
maintained?
“Are there any communist ideas that still exist in
these new villages and will the government suggest unifying these new
villages under the same ministry?” his question read. Saifuddin replied that new villages were established during the emergency era to handle the threat of the communist insurgents.
The
idea behind this plan was to move Chinese villagers in scattered,
isolated settlements in the forest outskirts into new villages in order
to prevent communist insurgents from threatening or receiving logistical
help or information from them.
“The Chinese villagers who were
moved to new villages during the emergency era are mostly victims of
communist insurgents and they are not former communists or communist
supporters till now.
“Those who were moved and placed in these new
villages, specifically Chinese villagers are victims of communist
insurgents. As such, they also hate the oppressive and violent communist
fight even though it is towards their own Chinese community,” Saifuddin
said.
Azan ‘ban’
apanama is back : I propose Maran MP Ismail Abd Muttalib to be sent to Liberia, on Africa's west coast. It was established as a home for freed slaves returning to the continent, escaping from unthinkable misery in the United States. Liberia is the country where citizenship depends on your skin colour.
Perhaps, then, it is unsurprising that when the constitution was created, a clause was put in restricting citizenship to just those of African descent, creating "a refuge and a haven for freed men of colour".
Hundreds of years later, Liberia's new president, the former footballer George Weah, described the rule as "unnecessary, racist and inappropriate".
What's more, Mr Weah said, discriminating against races "contradicts the very definition of Liberia", which is derived from the Latin word "liber," meaning "free".
The pronouncement has sent shockwaves through some parts of Liberia.
Let Abd Muttalib learn something from them.
Korkor : What kind of calibre MPs we are having? Its very clearly he is fanatically racist only trying to build up his racist reputation and gain recognition in Malay dominated areas.
PiMaiPiMaiTangTu : Terang terang bersikap rasis dlm parlimen... Pemikiran PN pada tahap falsafah songsang. Begitu biadap terhadap hak kemanusiaan. adakah puak PN PAS okay kalo dlm parlimen orang puteh, ada politikus Mat Salleh rasis becakap sedemikian terhadap bangsa Asia termasuk org Melayu?
Vijay47 : Yang Berhormat Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, I have a supplementary question to the ones raised by my colleague from Maran, Ismail Abd Muttalib.
Would your ministry be initiating a study into the mental erosion that many in this House seem to be exhibiting?
This ailment appears to have led them to ask questions totally devoid of sense and relevance, even evidently revealing coarse racism, and I fear that if left unaddressed, such deviations from common intelligence might result in a collapse of parliamentary conduct from which we as a nation may never recover.
Not that Parliament even now is a venue that inspires much awe and admiration.
I would also suggest that any examination of unusual behavior among MPs should include also the reasons why many of them absent themselves from parliamentary sessions and yet have the gall to protest that they are not permitted to raise questions on behalf of the constituents they profess to represent.
YB Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, I recognize that any study of human afflictions mental or physical are best achieved by the Ministry of Health but I believe that right now, its plate is more than full with issues relating to Doktor Kontrak.
As such, I would propose that we seek the assistance of an agency that has displayed versatility in areas beyond the realm they were established for, their recent success being jurisprudence and whether judges had erred in their decisions.
In short, any study in deviations of parliamentary minds should be conducted by MACC.
