Malaysiakini : Sungai Pelek assemblyperson Ronnie Liu has urged former prime
minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to drop his plan of revitalising his career
through uniting Malay-only political forces.
This is in response
to Mahathir’s call to Malays to support his “Proclamasi Orang Melayu”
programme at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur at 3pm tomorrow. “Dear Mahathir, you would not have resigned as prime minister twice if you really love our Malay brothers and sisters.
“You have lost all your credibility as a Malay leader when you failed to defend your Langkawi seat, finishing fourth. “You even lost your deposit just like every other Pejuang candidate in GE15,” Liu (above, left) said in a statement. Mahathir recently quit Pejuang to join Putra, the fourth Malay rights party of his career.
Both
Pejuang and Putra have been said to be seeking collaboration with
Bersatu and PAS in the Perikatan Nasional coalition, although Putra
leaders denied it recently.
Newday : Ronnie - looks like your wishes have been answered. Looks like there are no hotels or convention centres in KL desiring to hold Tun M’s race centric event tomorrow.
First booking at Impiana cancelled and second attempt at Sime Darby Convention centre just cancelled by the Convention centre. I applaud their stand in this.
