Malaysiakini : The Kuala Lumpur Magistrate’s Court today released a man known as
“Datuk Roy” on MACC bail, following the expiry of his three-day remand
to facilitate investigation into the Jana Wibawa programme.
However,
the 54-year-old is set to be brought before the Putrajaya Magistrate’s
Court tomorrow to be further remanded as part of the anti-graft
watchdog’s probe into the scheme.
His counsel Fahmi Abd Moin
confirmed that Kuala Lumpur Magistrate Noorelyna Hanim Abd Halim this
morning allowed the release when the MACC did not seek an extension to
the remand.
“He (Datuk Roy) would be brought to Putrajaya
(Magistrate’s Court) tomorrow for remand in relation to a new case,” the
lawyer said.
