Rudyard Kipling"
āWhen you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldierā
General Douglas MacArthur"
āWe are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.ā
āIt is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.ā āOld soldiers never die; they just fade away.
āThe soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.ā
āMay God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .ā āThe object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
āNobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
āIt is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Anwar to PN: Do you have evidence I interfered? By Geraldine Tong, Raveena Nagotra & Yasmin Ramlan
Tuesday, March 14, 2023
Malaysiakini : PARLIAMENT | Amid the oppositionās
accusations of the current administration being oppressive and
practising selective prosecution, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim asked
them whether they have any evidence to prove their claims.
āDo not use the Quran to pass judgment on me (as being) oppressive and interfering (with the investigations and court process). āI want to remind the leaders over there (the opposition), you have to remember that you have to be responsible Muslims.
āAre
you confident, do you have proof that Anwar interfered to prosecute
anyone? If not, that is what oppressive is - to use religion to accuse
someone. āI did not interfere, you can ask the MACC and the attorney-generalā¦
you can ask the chief judge, when did I interfere and ask for charges to
be reduced or withdrawn.
āI am not such a cheap politician,ā Anwar said during the Prime Ministerās Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat today. He
was responding to a question from Ahmad Fadhli Shaari (Perikatan
Nasional-Pasir Mas) who had asked whether the government intends to take
further action against potential corruption in projects approved before
the last general election.
Though Fadhli did not mention
selective prosecution in his question, Anwar said he would take this
opportunity to address the accusations against him.
RedMarlin1833 : The PN people need a scapegoat and this they are attacking the ruling coalition. Let the judges decide , let the the prosecution do their job while let the lawyers defending the accused to show why they are not guilty . Simple as that ā¦.. until then PN should not waste time but be a responsible opposition!
Mazilamani : If a crime has been committed what is so oppressive about arresting or charging the guilty. You will be seen as irresponsible if you fail to act responsibly, motivating others to do the same.
The crimes committed that runs into unimaginable billions are only beginning to surface now, over the last four months. Before this since 1980 the looting by the PMs and accomplice Ministers were extensive.
We call our country our motherland but have allowed politicians to rob his own mother.
You ask them, they say " I only live out of my pension money" and we the simple folks buy it and feel sorry for them. But look at the way their children and grandchildren live a westernised luxurious life.
All this nonsensical chatting in Parliament and not debating on Bills and Policies , are ways to threaten ,distract and divert the PM to save the skin of their own leaders. Even God will not want to help them.
For they have become incorrigible and infected with crimes of corruption , looting or robbing the country. People have to realise that while politicians make fat profits the ordinary citizens are left uncared for. Some are happy with the crumbs given .
Give the PM the space and freedom to help uplift the economy and safeguard the reputation of the country before the world.
Oppression is not in the mind of the PM but obviously in the politicians who think they are invincible.
