The bigger picture is that it's scary that people actually have elected them and more than once. It’s not racism to remove a racist from a position that has world consequences. It’s righteous justice. Marrying your brother for a green card is criminal and SICKENING.
All the things she said about herself are the reasons she shouldn't be in Congress let alone on any committee. Let's give her the benefit of a doubt for a thought experiment. Say she really didn't know about a lot of the stereotypes.
If that is true then she doesn't know the culture; if she doesn't know the culture, then she doesn't know the people; if she doesn't know the people, she can't represent them. Her statement should actually disqualify her from being a representative. That and lying to immigration about her brother/husband.
Finally, something positive and constructive has happened in our Federal government. Thanks for taking out the trash.
