The Soldier stood and faced God

I've had to work on Sundays

Surging prices leave Pakistanis unable to afford basic necessities

Pakistan is facing its worst economic crisis in years. Runaway inflation and low foreign exchange reserves are contributing to the misery -- the same factors that led to Sri Lanka's meltdown last year.
Though Pakistan's not there yet, it's teetering on the edge, which is causing worry. Queues like this one are becoming the norm. People wait in line for hours to get subsidised flour, a staple food in Pakistan. Many simply can't afford the usual foodstuffs to feed their families. This is why Pakistan is hoping to unlock more than a Billion dollars in funding from the International Monetary Fund. Pakistan simply ignored productivity of its workers to focus on religious rewards and the arms industry. Now that the economy is biting back, they are begging for help from the rest of the world.
If only they divert money from funding terrorism to helping people, their future will be much different.
