Malaysiakini : Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has apologised for not
being "present" during the critical phases of the massive floods that
have struck the state.
In a press conference this evening, the PAS
lawmaker acknowledged that no excuses can justify his absence, nor fix
the current situation. "I understand that whatever I say now, they will not mean anything.
"However,
I just want to put it on record that I was monitoring the flood
situation, and I decided to travel overseas when they were signs of the
floods receding," he said, adding that the situation only peaked days
later when he was already away.

The usual response from politicians under similar circumstances is defiant justification with more than a touch of outraged arrogance. Anyway, that’s water below the bridge.
Being the mentri besar, one would assume that you are a Terengganu local and thus can be expected to know weather patterns in the state at the end of the year; paradoxically, that there are no set weather patterns.
The monsoon would come and go as it pleases without so much as by your leave. If weather predictions were accurate, weathermen would be millionaires like certain PAS leaders.
So tell me, sir, when were your flight and hotel tickets purchased? At least six to eight weeks previously?
Thus at that point in time, how were you sure that during your crucial vacation period of 11 to 22 December, the rainy season would restrict itself to conduct amenable to your holiday programme? In the last twenty or so years, how many times were Kelantan and Terengganu spared the full onslaught of rains, storms, and floods during December?
And for heaven’s sake, why did the mentri besar of a state prone to savage water-logged times choose December for a family holiday? Perhaps you have a fondness for Christmas trees, sleigh-bells, and cheerful Ho Ho Ho’s.
Sorry, Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, you’ve been naughty and bad, so no gifts from Santa for you.

OCT : MB thinks that by just apologizing it is sufficient for Rakyat to accept and forget and forgive his mistake. MB as Head of state should know his responsibility and possess good judgement.
If the state can function without his attendance, it can be deduced that MB is redundant. There is no reason to go to a kafir country for his entitlement. A better and good place is to go perform a mini haj in SA.
He can pray for good weather for his state. This MB doesn't know his priorities. Very selfish thinking. No empathy for his Rakyat.
World Citizen : Your apology is not accepted for you should have returned when people in your state were suffering. Secondly, you are a PAS man and why did you choose NZ to holiday.
New Zealanders enjoy booze, gambling and sex. Aren't you being a total hypocrite having a good time in a kafir country. You should be holidaying in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran or any other Muslim country not a full blown kafir country!
