Malaysiakini : Newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has called
on all quarters to stop acts that could provoke anger, in order for the
government to carry out its agenda of serving the people.
Taking
to Facebook following the cabinet unveiling by Prime Minister Anwar
Ibrahim last night, Zahid said he was humbled to be entrusted with the
position.
"Thank you for the prime minister's trust in me, and my colleagues in BN, to be in the cabinet.
"This
trust is not spoils of war, but a heavy responsibility amidst a
challenging global economic outlook," wrote the Bagan Datuk MP. Zahid (above) will also lead the Rural and Regional Development Ministry, aside from the deputy prime minister's post.
WhiteMoose0037 : Zahid we have to accept your appointment as we know the consequences if you are not in. However you have to use your good office to get rid of the Senator Minister of International Trade.
He is a loser and neither he is a top notch banker. Perhaps only reason he has powerful connections and Anuwar has no choice to give in. We tax payers are the losers.
SARAWAKIAN : Happy to see Anwar knows how to consolidate his power and win allies. Forget Bersih and all the idealists screaming you cannot be Finance Minister or Zahid cannot be DPM. Survival comes first. Malaysia depends on you.
Commenting has been disabled for this story : This is a good cabinet. Perfect? No. But it's a good one, and definitely better than the previous ones.
To those complaining about this cabinet, i suggest you do 2 things...
1. Compare this cabinet to the cabinets of Moo and Turtle Egg
2. Imagine what the PAS PN cabinet would be.
In my humble view, no cabinet is perfect.
But the cabinet we have today is MILES better than 1 and 2 above.
To PH supporters I say this....remember this is not a PH government. It is a PH + BN + GPS government.
PH supporters, calm down.
Rome wasn't built in a day. Refrain from the toxic nitpicking , constant negativity, and nonstop criticism that helped to bring down the PH government.
Yin and yang. Take the good with the bad. On balance, this cabinet is more good than bad.
Now, the cabinet is formed. Done and dusted.
Instead of whining "Why this guy, why that guy"....Let's get to work
Let's focus on the work of rebuilding the economy and fostering unity.
