No Atheists
In A Foxhole

Rudyard Kipling

" “When you're left wounded on
Afganistan's plains and

the women come out to cut up what remains,
Just roll to your rifle

and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur

" “We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”

“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.”
“Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace,
for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .”
“The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.

“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died.
Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

Minister indicates no intention to review Sosma By Geraldine Tong
Tuesday, December 13, 2022

No hope with this Home Minister

Malaysiakini : Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail indicated that he has no intention of reviewing the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act (Sosma).

He defended Sosma saying the law allows the court process to take place, unlike others like the now-defunct Internal Security Act (ISA) and emergency ordinances (EO). “People like to compare Sosma with other preventative laws, even though Sosma is not a preventative provision.

“For example, compared with the ISA or EOs (where someone can be held) of up to 60 days, Sosma is only 28 days.  “At the end of the 28 days, there are only two recommendations, that is to free them (detainees) or to charge them in court.

“If they are brought to court, they can still have access to legal services,” Saifuddin explained in a press conference at Bukit Aman today.

He was making his first official visit to the police headquarters today, where Saifuddin and his deputy Shamsul Anuar Nasarah received a briefing from the inspector-general of police.

Saifuddin said this in response to a question from a reporter on whether he would review Sosma as well as the Independent Police Conduct Commission (IPCC).

Unity is Strength : Mr Home Minister you are supposed to reform the Home Ministry and not conform to the Home Ministry. Do you remember you are one of the Reformasi team members before Nov 19?

Please please talk to your boss PM Anwar for advice and not make any silly mistake before seeking his view. Thank you.

Kilimanjaro : Why was maria Chin arrested under Sosma? You mean to say she was/is a terrorist or was a danger to national security. I have had reservations about Saifudin and it may turn out to be true. He is indeed new in the job and everyone knows that.

So, he should be guarded in issuing statements. There are ways to handle this and there is no need to offend any parties, be it the authorities/agancies or the public. Just be smart, that's all. Frankly, what would a commoner listening to his statements conclude?

Just like Adli, the new deputy youth ministry chief. Not a smart thing to accuse anyone on anything without getting the facts and having the evidence. We are very supportive of the Unity Govt and want it to succeed but don't shoot yourselves in the foot lah.

Cogito Ergo Sum : Saifuddin, I really hope you get Sosmaed by the next government. This is the mistake that the first PH government did and you bunch did not learn from your mistakes?

Actually, from which party are you from? I am beginning to have my doubts if you are into reformation or persecution? I think DSAI made a horrible mistake in naming you Home Minister.

Nash : Nope, SOSMA is breaching the human right to be detained 28 days without trial. If within the 28 days the suspect is allowed to meet family members or lawyers, then still acceptable.

If its just going to put them in a cell and unable to see daylight until 28th day, then the law is draconian. Saifuddin, review and tweak the damn law

Annonnymous 080 : If DSAI is serious of reform, he has to get rid of this clown....he seems to be bought out by Immigration, PDRM and many more!

Read it all here.....
