Malaysiakini : Sarawak DAP chairperson Chong Chieng Jen provided his explanation on
the absence of representatives from his party’s division in the federal
cabinet line-up unveiled last night.
“We were informed that there
were some quarters who insisted on the exclusion of MPs from Sarawak DAP
from the cabinet, in exchange for their support for Anwar Ibrahim as
the prime minister.
“We understand that in the general interest of
stability and stronger support, the prime minister has acceded to such
demands,” said Chong in a statement on Facebook today. Chong, who is also the Stampin MP and Sarawak Pakatan Harapan
chairperson stressed that DAP’s struggle is not for ministerial
positions, but to see their ideals implemented as policies for the
betterment of the country and its people.
Average Joe : Chong is a mature politician who puts the nation's interest above personal glory. Well-done!!!!
The realist : That is what I call a 'wise ' leader who can see beyond personal gratification to ensure that our nation will survive the crisis and proper in time to come. Our actions will always be our branding and I salute DAP Sarawak leadership willingness to be a team player
