Perak PAS chief Razman Zakaria has been criticised for alleging that
Pakatan Harapan chairperson Anwar Ibrahim has an LGBT agenda and wants
to legalise same-sex marriage.
Perak Amanah chairperson Asmuni Awi slams Razman and stresses that
the Islamist party leader should focus on the peopleās woes rather than
making slanderous remarks.
āHe should focus on the peopleās issues
such as economic issues, the price of goods, poverty and so on in his
campaigns instead of making slanderous comments and causing conflicts,ā
Asmuni says in a Facebook post.
āSuch campaigns should be stopped
and Islam prohibits its followers from making slanderous comments
because of its negative impact on society,ā he says.
The incumbent Manjoi assemblyperson also urges the Election Commission (EC), as well as the police, to investigate Razman. Razman made the remarks yesterday during a walkabout at the Tebuk Pancur night market.
