Rafizi: Caretaker govt trying to bulldoze billions in tenders for cronies

Ramli has accused the caretaker government of trying to bulldoze
awarding contracts worth billions of ringgit for cronies.
He said
this is despite a Treasury circular saying the caretaker government must
avoid entering into contractual commitments or undertakings that would
have financial implications on the next government.
"In the heat
of GE15, the people may not be aware that we are facing a huge risk of
projects worth billions being approved and awarded by the caretaker
government," Rafizi (above) said in a statement today. The Pandan candidate said one case involves the Environment and Water Ministry and flood mitigation projects.
Caretaker prime minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob
He claimed one project in Malacca worth RM578.6 million was already
awarded via direct tender to an allegedly Umno crony company. The
award was reportedly announced by caretaker prime minister Ismail Sabri
Yaakob on Oct 14, four days after Parliament was dissolved.
RM2 billion contract?
Meanwhile,
Rafizi claimed that the Environment and Water Ministry was also in the
process of awarding an RM2 billion contract via direct tender to the
same company for flood mitigation works in Sungai Langat 2. He has urged minister Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man to address these allegations.

Tuan
Ibrahim is the PAS deputy president. His party is clashing with Umno in
the polls after attempts to forge cooperation failed. Malaysiakini has contacted the company involved in the flood mitigation projects for a response to Rafizi's allegations.
The Treasury circular advising the caretaker government to avoid entering new contracts was issued on Oct 18. The
same circular, however, states that the government can continue with
existing policies and development projects or enter contracts in matters
where the financial allocations have been approved by Parliament and
the government before it went into caretaker mode.
My2cen : Rafizi, kalau PH menang, declare 2 days holidays on Sunday/Monday // Monday/Tuesday, to stop them from 1. transferring funds, 2. shredding documents/evidence.
Have a team from the whole PH, including LGE, Tony Pua, Ong Kian Ming etc to check the account.

Anon25 : Ismail Sabri may have been misled. ... by the water minister from PAS. That minister is I believe Tuan Man.
Now that Tuan Man has been found to have tricked the care-taker PM to award contracts illegally, Ismail Sabri should immediately cancel these contracts.
And instruct his secretary to file a report with MACC.
Najib was the PM when he cheated. He is now in jail.

Mano : The newly installed Pakatan government on 20/11/2 will be put in a fix.
The will have signed the contracts and the contracts maybe binding. That will leave less money for important things.
The rakyat will get angry with Pakatan for a lesser budget.

Jakun10 : PH must very quickly after victoriously winning elections start a committee or committees to investigate fraud . Setting up of special corruption courts to prosecute suspects should be the first priority.
Changes to leadership in police, customers, immigration, lands and mines etc should be instituted immediately. New anti corruption team. This toxic culture must be laid to rest as a priority!
