Rudyard Kipling"
“When you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur"
“We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”
“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.” “Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .” “The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Ex-top civil servant makes electoral debut, wants to cut wastage By Ng Xiang Yi

Zainal Azman
Malaysiakini : One of the major reasons which motivated former Perak state secretary
Zainal Azman Abu Seman to join PKR and become active in politics was
the desire to improve the policy implementation process.
According to the Pakatan Harapan Kuala Sepetang candidate, there is a frequent mismatch between crafting and implementing government policies.
Zainal,
who hails from Perak, is hoping that he would be in a position to help
streamline the process to generate sustainable economic resources for
the silver state.
In an interview with Malaysiakini, the
60-year-old retiree, who is making his election debut, said while he has
been a PKR member since 2006, he would not allow his political views
to interfere with his duties as a civil servant.
V S : Ha Ha.
The civil service itself is a heavy wastage centre with too many civil servants ,like politicians ,ministers ,and deputy ministers ,aides and what not.
And he wants to cut wastage.
Po calling the kettle black.
Learn from PH how they cut tolls within their short lived survival , and how they put the rogue ex PM in jail.
The 60 years that BN ruled was appeasement honeymoon years for all of you.
JW : Bravo, ZA, and thank you!
Thank you for speaking out what should be obvious but, regrettably distorted by the arrogant BN, and now PN, culture that has made policy decision and implementation for the good of every one in the country regardless of race/religion dependent on their narrow, divisive politics of selfish gains.
Thank you for speaking the thoughts and views of professionalism that so many of the civil servants appeared not to have understood or just couldn't be bothered-- that they should work as professionals for the good of all in the country, regardless of race/religion.
This is particularly true of those civil servants with the higher pangkat as they have contributed to the distortion of professionalism, at the ground level, with their bodek culture
Thank you for your desire to do the right thing even when you are of retirement age.
Many other civil servants without your calibre and integrity will happily enjoy their perks and privileges even in their retirement by just going along with the bodek culture they have known and have no desire or knowledge to change and improve.
In short, thank you very much, ZA, for suggesting that the civil servant mentality and culture that has been distorted all these years has actually betrayed the country and all Malaysians regardless of race/religion.
I very much hope that you, honorable ZA, gets elected on Nov 19, together with enough of the others in PH to take over Putrajaya so that you can offer your invaluable contributions to the country and all Malaysians by changing the bodek culture to the true meaning of a professional culture.
The country, crippled by wonted corruption of various shapes and sizes, needs it now more than ever.
BlueShark1548 : One of PKR's ideal candidates! Hopes he wins and puts his thoughts and experience into practice for the benefit of the state and its rakyat and expand the corridor of co-operation to Kedah, Penang and Selangor especially on water management.
