Rudyard Kipling"
āWhen you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldierā
General Douglas MacArthur"
āWe are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.ā
āIt is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.ā āOld soldiers never die; they just fade away.
āThe soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.ā
āMay God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .ā āThe object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
āNobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
āIt is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Malaysiakini : Activist Jay Jay Denis was released after being detained for approximately five hours by the Alor Gajah police yesterday over his tweet in September.
In a Facebook post after being released, Jay Jay (third from left) said he was being investigated for "public mischief" and network communication abuse. "The police took my statement and then proceeded with an intelligence report under Bukit Aman's D4 unit."They wanted to know everything, from the moment I was born. Made me remember many things actually.
"But I was told repeatedly the police had no choice but to do this as
the orders came from Malacca's most powerful folks whose hearts were
broken about something I tweeted," wrote Jay Jay. Jay Jay revealed
that he was investigated under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code which
carries a maximum jail term of two years, a fine or both.
He was
also being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and
Multimedia Act 1998 which carries a maximum one-year jail term, a fine
not exceeding RM50,000 or both.
Meerkat : Come on police, don't give excuses. Get your CPO to stand against these most powerful so-and-so. They cannot use the police as tools. The one who committed the offence goes free. The messenger gets shot. This is the hallmark of a dictator wannabe.
Rupert16 : Looks like the ketuanan guy who was once suspended from his party for money politics is now above the law. What a joke!
Billythekid : So the prediction by many NGO's that Sedition Laws, SOSMA or whatever other named laws that restrict and 'hobble' free speech is coming true..
The authorities to enforce such very abstract and damnable laws have begun to be used to protect the sensitivities of the VVIPs and VIPs and maybe 'influencers' of regimes !
My Brother Did It : Very good of malaysiakini to repeat all the ' crimes' of malaysian against these people in each article Malaysia cepat lupa. Must constantly remind ourselves the bad state of authority perpetuated by old geezer mahathir and countinued by najib and after.
Remember how many malaysian got arrested for mco violation but not a single politician was. Dont forget when election comes. That was PN but the ministers responsible then is the PM now.
Mano : A post about stopping public traffic for Ali Rustam to make a U-turn after a family dinner in KL ,if it is wrong, it is wrong lah!!!
Ali Rustam,
Banyak darjat negara kita?
Kau sekarang lagak lebih angkuh dari royalty.
Sila bandingkan diri kau sendiri dengan Sultan Nazrin.
Wish for a clean Malaysia : Ali Rustam must have low self esteem to be easily offended. Or perhaps donāt misuse the benefits of outriders to simply hold up the rakyat for a family dinner appointment maybe?
Am I risking upsetting his poor soul and going to be called/arrested for this post too? And the rest of Mkini commenters here?
MerdekaMerdekaMerdeka : Why is the governor of Malacca behaving like a thug? You call the police on a rakyat over a remark that slighted you personally? Whatās wrong with you? What leader are you if you canāt take criticism from the Rakyat?
Doesn't it come with the job? You are an appointed government official, you are meant to SERVE the Rakyat. And not behave like the Sultan of Malacca. Even royalty donāt have such arrogance! How unbecoming!
And there seems to be a history of this brattish behavior preceding you.
You only find it offensive because itās a reflection of YOUR OWN INSECURITIES, whatever they may be. Isn't thereās more important things to be done for Malacca, G O V E R N E R ?
BOBBYO : What offensive tweet ? Leaders are suppose to set examples for others. Not set bad examples. Even when it comes to following traffic laws.
We just had one example where the son of a politician was given an excort. Upto now no action have been taken against the perpetrator.
This is just goes to show that other VIP's or even their family may think that they are above the law and break traffic rules accoiding to their whims and fancies.
The greatest fact that PDRM could use the assets and personnel's ( that belong to the tax payers ) just to fulfill the wishes of those not happy about the tweet, shows very clearly where their priorities lie.
apanama is back : Good to hear that Jay Jay was released last night around 11.30pm.
As expected, as usual and as always, the top fellows are abusing the state apparatus to harass and intimidate the ordinary people.
Therefore, remember this and in coming GE15 vote them out. Otherwise, situation could return if Kleptocrats are elected back into power with full strength.
They will become bolder to intimidate the people because they will say we endorsed whatever they did previously.
