Zahid: BN wants early polls to stop Harapan's inciting campaign

Malaysiakini : BN wants an early general election to put a stop to Pakatan Harapan's
ongoing nationwide campaign to discredit the ruling coalition, said its
chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Malaysiakini : The Bagan Datuk MP, who was labelled as “selfish”
for insisting on an early election this year, reminded the opposition
and non-BN parties that the 1999 general election was held in November.
"It
is clear that Harapan and non-BN parties have embarked on nationwide
political campaign and the remaining time before the dissolution of
Parliament is best used by the BN enemies," Zahid (above), who is the Umno president, said in a statement. "They
continue to discredit BN and this is reflected in PKR deputy president
Rafizi Ramli's remark that their job is to incite the people to hate BN.
"The opposition also incited the people by claiming that holding a
general election this year will expose them to floods. They forget that
their last former PM Mahathir (Mohamad) himself held a general election
in November 1999 and it was not a big issue. "Most recently last year, Sarawak state election was held on Dec 18, 2021. The opposition lost badly," he added.
Very concerned citizen : Very happy to note that Zahid is very worried about the opposition.He is worried that PH will win the election because he is most likely going to jail soon and the current backdoor government will crumble come the elections.PH must work very hard to ensure victory in the coming polls
泰哥 : You and fellow BN doesn't need PH to discredit UMNO and BN components. You and UMNO are doing all the discrediting by yourself and also doing a good job .

ZH, PH do not have to do anything as UMNO is doing it very well to discredit the ruling coalition by the continued presence of corrupt leaders within it's ranks and the expose of massive procurement scandals involving the military and Govt agencies like the PFI.
I do not think PH can do a better job at discrediting BN than what UMNO had done.
Anyway Yang Berhormat Zahid Hamidi, never in the history of Malaysia has the main opposition commit itself to support the Govt lead by BN until the expiry of the current parliamentary term in mid-2023 in return for some legislative and budgetary concessions.
So I submit that the current Govt lead by Dato' Seri Ismail Sabri is yet the most stable and cannot be held to ransom.
If it is predicted that 2023 will be another difficult year economically, financially and geo-politically due to factors beyond Malaysia's control, isn't it better that the Govt has the full support of the opposition like what we have now in order to weather the challenges??
From what has been publicized and announced, it appears that most political parties have already geared up for an election and there are already many mega issues mostly concerning corruption that have angered the people. Calling for an unnecessary early election just add to the list of grievances against BN. You will be naive to think that BN will still have the advantage riding on Melaka and Johor election wins.
Appum : This man is pressing the PANIC switch. Panicking because PH, especially Rafizi, is spilling out more scandals and corruption by UMNO top leaders. In fact there are in UMNO clean and principled members who are keen to get rid of all those "court cluster" leaders so that UMNO can re invent itself to be a true Malay centric party.
After 60 years, many in there can see the majority of the Malays are still far behind and it is not because UMNO Malay leaders of the past and current do not have the power, They have been given too much power and with all that power they have all been self serving and got very rich whilst the majority of the Malays have been led astray and cheated.
All recent expose have now filtered down to the masses, especially the Malays, through the social media making them more aware of their own cheating leaders who had misled them through and through. The ground sentiments is such, that is why UMNO (except a section within wanting cleansing and change), the dirty ones are in such panic mode. More so with Harapan striking early and decisively in this coming GE15 race.
And with the 18year old voting group with savvy social media connect ,
how not to panic UMNO, the so-called "big brother" of BN. Apart from promising jail term coming, this current president seem lost and desperate to move the elections at any cost even if the rakyat faces flood risks. If this is not selfishness what is?
