Rudyard Kipling"
“When you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldier”
General Douglas MacArthur"
“We are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.”
“It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.” “Old soldiers never die; they just fade away.
“The soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.”
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .” “The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
“Nobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
“It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
Cops nab father of child actor following sexual abuse allegations
Thursday, September 08, 2022
Malaysiakini : The police have detained the father of a child actor after she alleged that she was sexually abused by him.
Subang Jaya police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said that the 43-year-old man was detained in Kedah at 2.25pm on Tuesday. “The man tested negative for drugs and did not have any prior criminal records,” Harian Metro
quoted Wan Azlan saying, adding that the police have also seized the
suspect’s mobile phone and sent it for forensic examinations.
In addition, the suspect has also been remanded until Sept 12 to facilitate investigations.
Jaded : "Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Idris Ahmad is one of the latter. He was quoted saying: “In Islam, it is better to not disgrace oneself (menutup aib sendiri). Such abuse should not be exposed to the public."
If one was sexually abused by a loved one, there is no way to describe the horrors, anguish and pain of betrayal that the abused will have to endure mentally for many years to come. To say that she should not expose it is akin to asking her to suffer in silence while perpetrators go about their lives.
It's by no means pleasant but a necessary evil for it is by recognizing the wrong that we can move towards the journey of recovery if there's one.
Way to go : Idris philosophy in the name of Islam tend to say hide what ever evils and sins happens in a family to protects the victim and perpetrator in the name of family reputation and prestige. What kind of family would this be?
I honestly don't understand Idris's rational.
I only hope Idrus is projecting a wrong image of Islam because to my knowledge no religion protects wrong doings by silencing it. People turn to the social media because it gives them the freedom to expose wrongdoing and protect society.
Hiding especially abuse of children indirectly perpetrates and even encourages its proliferation.
And how does a child being violated by her own father go to the police? Does Idris profess she tolerate it till adulthood and than lodge a report? We should encourage them to expose it as early as possible regardless of age to avoid further abuses and violation. This is where the mothers comes in. To build the confidence of the children to confide in them.
It is such feudal inward looking mindset that has been the undoing of developing an open mind, liberty and freedom of expression the cornerstone of a civil society. Those with a close mindset must be living in an era when media was nonexistent let alone social media that specifically serves not to push dirt under the carpet.
OCT : Idris doesn't understand the trauma the child actor has gone through. She is not shaming herself. In fact she is very brave to let all the children know that the man who is her father has violated her innocence.
She is thinking about the big picture unlike Idris who only thinks about hiding bad things when you are a Muslim. Making a police report is also making the incident public. Later when the trial if it starts, the proceedings will be in public too.
Idris prefers that bad happenings in Islam should not not reported at all so that Islam is deemed as a good and safe religion. His school of thought goes against human decency and protection of children welfare.
No other religions allow bad happenings to the children. Idris is sending the wrong message to children that they can be abused by their own father and keep quiet over the incidents. Evil man has evil thoughts
