Sources within Umno indicated that the private
meeting would be held as the Umno vice-president, who is also the Bera
division chief, was unable to attend the larger gathering convened at
the partyās headquarters in Kuala Lumpur earlier today.
āTonight, Umnoās top leadership, including the top 5, will hold a meeting with the prime minister at his official residence.āThis follows his absence in the urgent meeting called by the top leaders with division chiefs today. āDuring the meeting, the majority of Umno division chiefs in
attendance agreed for GE15 to be called as soon as possible,ā a source
told Malaysiakini.
However, another source from the Prime
Ministerās Office said that the home visit by Umnoās top leadership is
not listed in Ismail Sabriās schedule for tonight, and instead, he has a
dinner engagement at a location outside of Putrajaya.
Malaysiakini understands that Ismail Sabriās earlier absence was due to a prior scheduled event. Umno
Sungai Besar chief Jamal Mohd Yunos earlier said the meeting came as a
shock, and the division chiefs were only notified last night.
YellowCat1156 : Doesn't look good, especially if the PM wasn't there. Umno probably miscalculated and underestimated IS, as they did MY. Time for IS to show who's the boss now.
fyddeep : Jamal ikan bakar. I still remember a photo of this bugger in a police cell. Kena tangkap. Now can talk cok.
OrangePanther1466 : YAB DSIS, stay strong and resist pressures to dissolve parliament prematurely. There is still 11 months to go for the current parliament. No hurry. The are other more important priorities to address rather than GE. The opposition will support you under the MOU terms. So do continue with the job of governing.
Stay on the right path of transparency and accountability and you will do fine YAB PM.
UMNO's priorities is dictated by Najib and Zahid. If you poll privately, the majority of divisional leaders would want to cleanse the party of these 2 and will defer to you on GE15 timing. It is only thy court cluster who want an early election.
Dr Raman Letchumanan : As I said below, UMNO is now ganging up on Ismail Sabri. I hope PH stays out of this and not add fuel to the fire.
āāāāā
I wouldn't read much into Ismail Sabri's statement, except that he is trying to save his own skin, and he is becoming very good and cunning at that.
Najib, Zahid and Co were going for his jugular and they thought IS is a push over. Even though he is the PM, they are dictating to him how to run the country. Now he has very cunningly turned the tables on them. His statement here is clearly to say the elections will not be held anytime soon. This is telling off Zahid who said yesterday elections should be held now if UMNO wants to win.
He released the LCS secret documents to pin down Najib, Zahid and Hishammudin and put the blame squarely on them. Unfortunately, Hassan took the side of Najib. So they are checkmate. If Najib goes to jail, the dominos wiill start to fall.
But UMNO will emerge even stronger. IS has a Plan and he is cooly executing it, playing both sides.
PH doesn't want the election any time soon either for obvious reasons. With Najib & Co out of the picture, these barking dogs will have nothing to bark at. So it is killing many birds with own stone.
PH should stop their narrative of barking at every tree, twig or stone thrown their way and build their own narrative of being a good alternative to BN. They cannot build their house by rampaging the neighbours' house.
As I have written, the LCS and the previous defence fiasco is a disaster for BN, many times worse than 1MDB. This goes to the heart of national security and sovereignty, our Tanah Melayu, and more importantly the image of the armed forces which placed their trust in BN, and similarly to other fixed deposit establishments like the civil service.
If that cancer is removed, the patient will gain all glory.
Therefore it is no point for DAP, PKR especially Rafizi to dig more dirt. BN is already in the pit in view of LCS. They have to go beyond that and gain the trust of the people, especially the people. Stop throwing mud at the buffalo.
Like PH, there is no point whacking IS all the way in whatever he says, like what is happening in this comment space. Learn to be strategic and be politically savy, if PH wants to have a chance at GE15. Whatever happened to the young promising intellectuals?
