Rudyard Kipling"
āWhen you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldierā
General Douglas MacArthur"
āWe are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.ā
āIt is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.ā āOld soldiers never die; they just fade away.
āThe soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.ā
āMay God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .ā āThe object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
āNobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
āIt is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
'Appalled' MP asks AG to withdraw federal counsel from Ain suit
Sunday, June 05, 2022
Ain Husniza Saiful Nizam
ScarletViper9930ā : All right thinking citizens are appalled at the wicked turn of events..how is it even possible for the government to defend a screwed up teacher using tax payer's money when he is sued in his personal capacity? Are we missing something here? Theresa Ok is right to highlight this issue and the AG need to be answerable!
Vijay47 : Teresa Kok says she is āappalledā. To that I would add āterrifying and incredulousā to describe the direction that the Attorney-Generalās Chambers and our law enforcement agencies are embarked on. Both these institutions seem to be suffering a siege-mentality and thus appear to have adopted a policy of āNever mind the legalities, shoot first and talk laterā.
We await the AGās explanation and justification of his presence for the headmistress and teacher in this Ain Huzniza civil suit involving parties in their personal capacities. In fact we would expect him to take up the cause of the schoolgirl ā she is the victim! Does the fact that one party is a government servant mean that such party can rely on the AGās assistance and participation in the court proceedings?
If I were a government servant and wish to sue my neighbor over his dog snarling at me, can I count on the government rushing to bat for me?
We shudder to imagine the depths into which our official legal personalities seem to have collapsed. Familiarity and even basic knowledge of law seem to have taken leave of certain government departments.
Some time ago, there was a case where a couple had a dispute with a hotel or home-stay establishment regarding the quality of service they were given. Unbelievably, the police initiated action against them for defaming the owners!
More recently, we had attempts by the Immigration Department to deport someone for a traffic offence when such action was just not provided for in the Immigration Act!
If you want to throw the book at someone, sure, go ahead. But read the damn thing first.
Malaysiakini : A lawmaker has expressed horror at the revelation that a senior
federal counsel is representing a teacher who allegedly made a rape joke
in class last year, and a former headmistress, in a counterclaim
lawsuit filed by former school student Ain Husniza Saiful Nizam.
Seputeh
MP Teresa Kok said she was āappalledā to read that a senior federal
counsel is defending the male teacher and the former headmistress of the
school who were named as defendants in Ainās counterclaim.
"How can a senior federal counsel act for them since the teacher and headmistress were sued in their personal capacities?
"Moreover,
it was Ain who was first sued for defamation by the teacher who cracked
a rape joke in class. Ain, who was at the receiving end, was forced to
defend herself and had to make a counterclaim against the teacher.
