Rudyard Kipling"
āWhen you're left wounded on Afganistan's plains and
the women come out to cut up what remains, Just roll to your rifle
and blow out your brains,
And go to your God like a soldierā
General Douglas MacArthur"
āWe are not retreating. We are advancing in another direction.ā
āIt is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.ā āOld soldiers never die; they just fade away.
āThe soldier, above all other people, prays for peace, for he must suffer and be the deepest wounds and scars of war.ā
āMay God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won't .ā āThe object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.
āNobody ever defended, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.
āIt is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
The Soldier stood and faced God
Which must always come to pass
He hoped his shoes were shining
Just as bright as his brass
"Step forward you Soldier,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't
Because those of us who carry guns
Can't always be a saint."
I've had to work on Sundays
And at times my talk was tough,
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny
That wasn't mine to keep.
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep,
The Soldier squared his shoulders and said
And I never passed a cry for help
Though at times I shook with fear,
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burden well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."

| It really doesn't matter if the Bar Council holds an EGM to discuss
if there should be a walk for justice. It really does not matter if
every single member of the Malaysian Bar decided to show up and march on
Putrajaya.
It really doesn't matter if Harapan
political operatives suddenly feel aggrieved by the attacks on the
judiciary. It really does not matter if the online world is outraged by
the MACCās investigations ā... on Court of Appeal judge Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali (above)after a politically-linked blog posted an allegation claiming he had unexplained wealthā.
I am not being pessimistic or cynical here, but the sight of a
couple of hundred lawyers or whoever shows up for this walk is not going
to move whichever cabals are conspiring to bring down a sitting Court
of Appeal judge.
Headhunter : You are absolutely right Commander. Sorry to say but the judiciary lost it direction years ago when judges started to sell their soul to the devil in exchange for positions and money. They were many instances that even a layman like us can tell something is rotten when judges chose to close their eyes and make judgements that were based on political affiliation and compromises.
A failed state we are with little hope when the majority think stealing and looting by their own kind is better than letting others who are clean to run the country. A sick country with poisoned rakyat mindset. Better look for the closest exit if you are able to before your next generation suffer.
The walk, if it does take place, will also remind Malaysians that the MACC has long been populated by unsavory characters ranging from those who were behind Teoh Beng Hock when he went through the window to those who helped themselves to billions from a supposedly-secure evidence room to the fellow whose claim that his brother used his account was discredited by the SC, thus proving a serious violation of Civil Service rules.
This walk is coming at a point when every single regulatory and enforcement agency has been literally "captured" by thieves, bigots and their titled enablers who most recently saw it fit to ignore the country's worst corporate fraud and treat it like a minor misdemeanor. It is in this context of serial malfeasance that this brazen attack on a fearless judge is being facilitated by the politicians who are prepared to do anything and everything to stay in power.
But the attack on the judiciary doesn't just end there. Right within the Bar Council there could well be "lawyers-for-hire" in the same mold as the "royal" fugitive from justice whose escape from the country was undoubtedly facilitated by those who are paid to guard the borders.
If anyone doubts the possibility of termites within the country's legal system working quietly to undermine the place, he or she should recall the Altantuya saga where contradictory SDs were prepared one after another by questionable characters in robes and when for the first time in judicial history, the prosecution, the defense and the judge were all on the same page to ensure that the widely alleged mastermind who employed and supervised the two killers was not called to answer any question.
So yes walk ...even if that will only serve to waken some from their sleep.
