Kritik keras disampaikan oleh Profesor Jayum Jawan dari Serawak. Menurut dia, justru professor melayu yang meminggirkan Bahasa Melayu. Ia mempertanyakan pula, Bahasa Melayu milik orang Melayu atau milik Malaysia.
Jika Bahasa melayu gagal total, Bahasa Indonesia amat sukses sebagai Bahasa pemertu, Bahasa negara, Bahasa pengantar Pendidikan. Bahasa Indonesia sudah mendunia, Bahasa melayu semakin layu. Profesor Melayu Sendiri yang Pinggirkan Bahasa Melayu. Kritik keras dari Tokoh Serawak. Kami rakyat Indonesia Bangga dengan ratusan bahasa daerah yang kami miliki. Karena itu adalah kekayaan budaya kami.
Kami mendukung semua suku yang ada agar tetap melestarikan bahasa daerahnya masing-masing, dengan tetap menggunakan bahasa daerah jika berbicara didalam lingkungan keluarga dan Sukunya. Tapi kami wajib BERBAHASA INDONESIA, jika berbicara dengan suku lain.
Dan ada Etika yang tidak tertulis bahwa kami wajib menggunakan bahasa Indonesia jika disekitar kita ada suku lain. Saya bangga dengan NEGARA INDONESIA DAN BAHASA INDONESIA.
Saudaraku rakyat Malaysia yang kami cintai, kalian belum terlambat, banggalah dengan Bahasa Resmi Negara kalian Malaysia.
Profesor ini.... Berani dan cerdas.....sangat masuk akal....
