Stones inside mosque
Robert Spencer : Those collecting stones inside the mosque are not disregarding the
“sacredness” of the place.
In their view, they’re doing a sacred act: in
the Qur’an Allah commands them to fight unbelievers & “kill them
wherever you find them” (2:191, 4:89, cf. 9:5). So for them, gathering
rocks to fight Jews is an act of worship.
Also, a mosque is intended to be a center for Islamic activity, and
the highest Islamic activity, according to a hadith, is jihad. A hadith
has a Muslim : “Instruct me as to such a deed as equals
Jihad (in reward).” Answer : “I do not find such a deed.”
(Bukhari 4.52.44).
In 2014 in Kenya, police raided two Mombasa mosques and found grenades and ammunition.
