Of course an appeal would be filed against the habeas corpus decision by Judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah. The principal grounds would be that the good judge is a non-Muslim, and worse, probably a Christian, and thus cannot be relied upon to understand the spirit of Islam as envisaged in the Constitution. Lesson 1 – always mention Islam. That should scare the non-Muslims. Lesson 2 – always mention the Constitution. Especially when irrelevant. Lesson 3 – Always apply Lesson 1 and Lesson 2 together.
Obviously, the only necessary response would be – Who gave this woman preacher, Nazirah Nanthakumari Abdullah, the locus standi to go around kidnapping children and holding them against their and their mother’s wishes?
Strike 2. The Federal Court has ruled, unanimously I must add, that laws cannot be passed willy-nilly to illegally grant Muslim bodies authority not provided for in the, yes, Constitution. So another appeal can be expected. Sorry, what’s that you say? The decision was by the Federal Court so no further appeal is possible? Even to a spiritually superior Bench consisting the Two Muftis and Zakir Naik? Damn the DAP. Nobody realized how wide their influence was. Cancel Lessons 1 – 3.
Strike 3. Perhaps the saddest. First, it reveals that when it comes to misguided attempts to practice cruelty and extremism, some persons will not stop at anything. No doubt in keeping with Hadi Awang’s sermon that corruption is not sinful. The really heart-breaking part was when Siew Hong asked the children their names, they all gave their Hindu names. This shows that merely being able to be with their mother again was enough to wipe out 3 years of indoctrination. (I wept reading this part.)
